I got mine for about 275 euros shipped, regular 35i. Wasn't mentioned but I think I got the 335i instead of a 435i but it only takes a bit more welding to get it to fit and if needed some tie straps to get the tip heights to your liking ... Use the part number and look for eBay sellers located in Germany I found 2 or 3 at the time I was looking! So worth it!

i wonder if the duel sided exhausts are more of bmw wanting people to buy up to the 35i model rather than saving costs by only producing only duel sided exhausts for 28i and 35i cutting costs.

I did the conversion as well. You can weld it on. However, since there is a difference in diameter between the 428 exhaust the 435 exhaust, the exhaust shop has to make a piece that connects the two different pipe sizes. Its not a big deal. In my case, I did not want to weld because I wanted to be able to go back to stock if I wanted. I had the shop modify the muffler pipe and then I used the OEM clamp. I've had my exhaust for over 1.5 years now without any issues. For more info, check out my build thread in my signature.

any good muffler shop should be able to take care of this rather easily.

To resurrect this thread,
I want to do this conversion on a 430i. Looking online all the hangers and active parts look identical and it's just a swap out with no other parts needed other than a clamp and new diffuser? Is this correct? |

Not sure if your muffler has flap regulated tips (probably not), aside from the fixing there shouldnt be any differences but the left side electric steered vent. You'll have to block it into open position.
Nonsens. Theres no need to equip a low powered car to looks like a bigger model from the same series. This thread is the proof that you 428ers would make look your car more than it is. Even its only a cosmetic item which has nothing to do with weight

Just checked on realoem and apart from muffler ALL other components are the same.
Actuators different on 430/440 to 428/435 so rules out a 435 muffler for me If it wasn't for having to cut the pipe I'd probably do it for looks alone Last edited by Pacemaker1000; 07-06-2017 at 10:57 AM.. |

I'd changed my whole exhaust after the half-clamp behind the cat...but I sold it meanwhile. Otherwise you were able to buy it and change just the whole pipe w/o cutting anything
