Adding Satellite Radio

I've seen this discussed a bit already but haven't seen a definitive answer. Even though you can't order the car with satellite radio as a standalone option, is it possible to have it added when it comes in to port or at the dealer? If so, any idea on cost? I'm ordering an F30 on Friday and don't plan on getting the Premium Package but would really like to add satellite radio seperately. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!

I've seen on the coding forums that there is a dealer retrofit available from BMW. Ask you SA.

I think every F30 in the US is built with Satellite Preparation; so they should just need to add the FSC code.

You can check to see if you have Satellite Preparation by going to www.bmwvin.com. You just need to enter in the last 7 characters of your VIN.

It's basically just coding, all the hardware is already there. Apparently it is available as a "port installed accessory"...this is the way to do it (negotiate for invoice price on the accessory). I didn't realize it could be port installed until AFTER delivery, so I had my dealer activate Sirius. Charged me $350 + $60 for the labor. If you do it at the port, it should be less, I think MSRP for the activiation code is $375, so shoot for something less than $350 for port activation.
