Clicking noise when switching AC off or on.
Hi all,
has anyone had the above problem? Whenever I turn the AC on or off I can hear like a grinding clicking noise for maybe 3 seconds right behind the stereo. Happens 80% of the time and only recently started. Any help much appreciated! |

It's probably a vent being opened/closed. In any event, there's no reason to ever turn the AC off. If it's cold enough that cooling isn't required the compressor doesn't run. If it's cold enough that heat is required it will come on by itself. Just set the temperature where you want it and forget about it.

Cheers. I heard it by accident while cleaning and hitting the button. Think you're right though, sounds like a vent closing and opening to change where the air flow comes from.

I hear the same sound everytime I shut down my engine after a drive. I start feeling some cracking and clicking noise coming from both the AC and the engine bay. So I guess it's some vents closing (in the case of the AC) and some electronics maybe clearing its current. anyone can confirm please.

Yeah my problem is the same as EmEm but I hear the cracking/creaking noise whenever I turn the AC off or on. So like you say, must be vents closing or something, but its almost as if theyre going to snap, something must be stuck!
