A couple of clues on why 2011 (as MY2012):
1) M-kit is factory option, this is a signal of end model cycle (BMW is very cautious not to cheapen the M-badge unless its' pocket is hurting).
2) E92 rebate > Audi S5 (actually better financing rate as well).
