The heating of the rear window is temperature controlled i believe. Therefore if its 15 degrees Celsius outside, removing condensation goes really slow. Any idea how to code the temperature of the heating element?

I think I need to flash my EGS firmware to enable the 'EGS, 3000 Applikation, Funktionen, LC=aktiv already set which doesn't seem to work with my current I-step version F020-13-03-502. I have read the process to flash here http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...5&postcount=13 and I assume I just replace the last steps to check the right ECU's ID Base rows with the EGS row check boxes (first question)?

And could someone pm me the right I-step firmware version to flash the EGS module please (second question)?

I have E-sys 3.24.3.

Thanks

Yes, just make the checkboxes in TAL for EGS.

Use the latest 53.5 firmware. PM sent.

I am trying to code BMW 328i from USA to ECE.
How important is parameter in FAList->FZAuftrag->Type->Typshlussel.
In my car this looks like this:
Name:  bmw_type1.png
Views: 1704
Size:  12.0 KB

In google I found list of codes, separate for USA, Europe, UK, Japan etc.
http://www.bmwarchiv.de/e-code/f30.html

3A51 328i Limousine N20B20O0 180kW Heckantrieb links Europa
3A52 328i Limousine N20B20O0 180kW Heckantrieb rechts Europa
3A53 328i Limousine N20B20O0 180kW Heckantrieb links USA
3A54 328i Limousine N20B20O0 180kW Heckantrieb links China
3A55 328i Limousine N20B20O0 180kW Heckantrieb links Europa
3A56 328i Limousine N20B20O0 180kW Heckantrieb rechts Europa
3A57 328i Limousine N20B20O0 180kW Heckantrieb links USA
3A58 328i Limousine N20B20O0 180kW Heckantrieb rechts Malaysia
3A59 328i Limousine N20B20O0 180kW Heckantrieb links Russland

Is coding car form USA to ECE need Typshlussel change ?

It is critical to set Typshlussel = xxxx correctly.

What is your factory ECE Typshlussel?

Now it's 3A57 - USA Typshlussel
for ECE it's should be 3A55.

Is it safe to change 3A57 -> 3A55 and then code the whole car ?

I have done certain modules before, but not the entire car, and it is safe so long as you use correct equivalent Typshlussel.

I don't think your list is correct though as I am pretty sure:

3A55 = F30 325I ECE LL (3A55) [from=0309]
3A57 = F30 328I US LL (3A57) [from=0309]

I think you need to use:

3A71 = F30 328I ECE LL (3A71) [from=0309]

Are You sure about this ?

In Vin number is part of Typshlussel, my car vin is: WBA3A5G58.
I found a europe BMW 328i vin number: WBA3A51020FZ99737

in vin decoder:

You are correct. So, the BMW database I am using must have a mistake in it.

FEM_BODY-> 30D0 remotecontrol, 13 -> Funktionen-> RC_default_IDG_3rd_button_short
It looks like you can programme 2 opening bootlid, 3 panic alarm, or 4 follow me home.
Medium and long passing of 3rd button on the remote are programmed to open the bootlid.

Has anyone tried to program to follow me home with the remote?

Edit: or anyone tried RC_ENABLE_CONFIG_BUTTONS. This should activate 'configuration of the 3rd button via the idrive menu'

Hi Shawn,

I just started coding for the first time and am using the 53.3 data which you sent me awhile back. Since then my car had the MPPK installed and the dealership reset/updated my system.

Can I continue to use 53.3 or should I upgrade to 53.5? (Running E-Sys 3.24.3)

If it's the latter can you PM me the updated version?

Thanks in advance!
