I've had three of my four tires replaced in the past 100 miles. It feels better than what it was, but I still feel "something." I had a significant vibration cruising at 80mph on the interstate, but that seems to be a lot better now.

However, I feel a stronger vibration at 50mph with the steering shake.

This is really frustrating, especially going through and reading this thread.

Turning it to Sport+ with the traction control makes it a lot worse. I still think I have a tire/wheel balance issue.

Went back to the dealership today, showed the lead tech it. He drove it and saw it himself.

Looked at it for a few hours and I guess they spoke to the factory rep. Reported that it's normal and if I wasn't satisfied that the factory rep can meet me. I told them to schedule it.

I'm also calling BMWNA now and requesting a buyback.

Let us know how the meeting goes with the factory rep.

Nothing yet - awaiting his schedule.

However, it looks like the replaced Continental SSR's are still bad. I went to Discount Tire yesterday and the Manager showed me how they are all over the place. So I may still have a tire issue.

Furthermore, it looks like my dealer gouged the corner of one of my wheels. Gets better and better.

Any updates? Did you end up meeting with the factory rep?

Yep, very nice guy. Here's what happened:

He immediately saw the vibration and said let's replace the tires with a different brand. They couldn't do Michelin PS2's (my first option), so I went with Pirelli P7's.

After some dealer delays, I got my car back today. Pulled out of the dealership, same vibration (saw it when I brought it up to 45mph). Pulled back in - told the Service Director I am not accepting this for the life of the car.

I am start buyback/lemon law proceedings.

Have they ever tested the Rims? I have had a slightly bent rim which couldn't be detected by the eye --- but when they replaced the rim all was fine.

Thanks for your feedback. I might be going through the same thing shortly. I am supposed to be contacted Monday regarding a factory rep test drive. I have been to the dealership a couple of times and already went through the wheel balance and rotation dance. Shop foreman test drove and confirmed the steering wheel vibration. I really wish there is a fix because I love this car and I have sank some money on it as far as mods go and I got a very good deal when purchased. We'll see what happens.

Well, the dealer replaced one of my wheels on this trip (I guess my locknut was seized on the wheel?). They have told me that the wheels run true, and Discount Tire also stated they run true when they evaluated it. So I'm not sure?

Honestly, I don't give a flying f-ck. I've been to the dealership seven times now, 4 days after I purchased it. Car is only 3.5 months old. This is a waste of my time and I want to be done with this.

I got a great deal also, I've only got window tint and the nice floormats so far.

I do love this car - the concern I have is, if they order another one for me, will it have the same issue?

BMW NA is buying my car back. No clue on what I'm going to get or what I'm going to do. Really love the car, but I don't know if anyone can guarantee me a 335 that's without this issue.

Do you mind to elaborate on how you got things started down this path?

Any news on this?

Has anyone found a resolution for this? On my 2014 328i noline, I seem to have a slight vibration in the steering wheel at all speeds and all surfaces, but the steering wheel only starts to shimmy at 45-55MPH. I had the dealer road force balance all the tires and they said they rotated them and everything remained the same. They said the slight shimmy was normal.

Is there another area of the car the dealer should be looking at with regards to this problem?

No, I don't believe that there is a fix for this issue, I have on e-mail from dealer that the shimmy is normal and nothing can be done.....
I will never accept that of course and they are looking at different options how to make me happy.
I'm requesting a buyback.

Any progress on your shimmy/buyback?

I have this same problem as well - my steering wheel vibrates 40-60mph and then slightly at 80mph. The only thing is the 40-60mph vibration disappears and reappears at random times. I told my SA about this - just need to set up a time to bring my car in (haven't had the chance yet).

Is it a vibration (steering wheel visibly vibrating) or more of a buzz (something you can feel through your fingertips and see in the rearview mirror)? I have the latter but it depends on the road surface so I'm attributing it to the run-flats.

Mine is a shimmy that occurs around 40-55MPH. I can always feel a sort of rumble in the steering wheel, but it doesn't manifest into a visible shimmy until that 40MPH mark.

Hi, I'm from Germany and new to this forum
For a couple of months I noticed that the steering wheel vibrates while braking on higher speeds. It seems that the issue does not occur when the car/brakes are cold. But it could also be just random.

Since I have had changed my brake blocks & discs on the front axle recently, I reckoned something was wrong with the brake discs and went to the repair shop and made a claim.

They replaced the brake blocks / discs for a pair of new ones (free of charge).

Unfortunately, the issue persists
