I don't know about the RFT situation but I would suggest getting a new set of rims for winters..

Just talked to both Tire23 and SimplyTire. They all put my concerns at ease. I'm sure you guys know this but in case someone needs answers to the questions that I was having, I'm going to post them anyway.
Both places agree that there is no harm in mounting normal tires instead of RFT on the stock wheels. And this also doesn't mess with the monitoring system that you have on board. As well, with the right equipment, mounting and dismounting the RFT is safe and easy enough. The prices of these two shops are comparable to each other and beat the prices at any store I know of. I am going to go with Blizzak WS70 instead of the LM60, I really don't need the RFT for winter and I am keeping the stock wheels this winter. And I think I am going to choose Tire23, as they are closer to where I live than SimplyTire. Both places have high reviews. |

You need to visit their store in order to understand what I'm saying. They have the best road-force balance equipment in all of Canada and that was very important to me.

I'm going with Tires23. Better staffed and response. Simplytire seems to have too much business to pay attention to client (esp if dealing over the phone). Based on quotes Simplytire seems to be cheaper but that is pretty marginal.

Are you satisfied with the service at Tires23? Would you have any reservations in letting them touch your BMW? Or now, your Audi?

Anyone able to confirm if E90 wheels will fit on the F30? I have a set of 17 inch winter tires and wheels from my current car and was wondering if the wheels would fit on the F30. I've seen some conflicting posts around on the net and wanted to see if anyone has tried mounting E90 wheels.
I am aware the 225/45/17 tire size is incorrect, and would need 225/50/17.

I'm staying with 18" and also getting M5 reps. Planning on getting them installed in a week or two. Just loving my summer wheels too much!

.... but they are mostly Made in China where the QC is questionable. Draw of the luck should you get one set that has inferior quality. But then, you are using them for winter, at least they look somewhat stylish.

The one F30.ca got are the older M5 reps. I'm getting the newer ones/shape as I like them more. There are also M3 reps that Martin has. Photoman and Puri1 both have M5 reps. So quite a few choices for you to choose from and it'll make your winter tires look a 1000 times better...

Does anyone have a picture with an F30 on 16" wheels?
I'm thinking of going that route this winter. |

SimplyTire changed my mind about getting 16" on my 328xi Sport. Apparently people have complaints if they use 16's, too much noise and too little ride quality.
In the end I went with the exact rims as F30.ca, but I left them silver. And I chose the Blizzak WS70. Can't stress enough how kewl the ride is with these tires and how good of a job Simply did on me. Straight after I left the store, I drove with 140 km/h on the 401 and I haven't felt any vibrations whatsoever. Thanks, guys, for recommending Simply. |
