Exactly. The F10 has AUTO also, so they are already using HVAC panels with all 3 buttons. And F10 has the REST function too that while no longer marked as such, works off the fan Speed switch.

I am guessing preferences here will depend on what type of climate you are in and if you have a passenger.

For me, living in Texas, the MAX button is a nice feature and I use it frequently, especially during 100F/38C summers.

The AUTO works really well for me. I use the cool/hot dials on the center two vents to help control comfort. Honestly, this car is really easy to dial in the perfect comfort levels for me. During the winters, the seat & steering wheel warmers are awesome. You get to warm up without having to wait for the car to warm up.

It would be nice to 'press and hold' the auto button for a second or two to sync the dials though.

+1 on the hold sync for a sec or two.

Another question I have is is there anyway to code the car to not auto engage park when moving the car with door open.

I tend to move the car with the door open when I am in my driveway n need to make quick moves forward or back n stuff.

I tried this on my F20 but the logo didn't change.
Must the car sleep overnight for it to apply?
I know the KOMBI was coded successfully because I turned on BC_DIGITAL_V and it worked.

The car needs Option 6WA Expanded Instrument Panel, and ISTA/P firmware 47.5 or higher, and then when coded, it is immediate.

Ah that's why! I don't have 6WA.
Thanks

Hi,
I have 320D made for Russia then seatbelt reminder for passenger is set to off.
I set to active the following parameters:
ACSM>3000>
SeatBeltReminder_SBR_Beifahrer
SBR_PreWarning_Beifahrer
Gurtzustandsanzeige_Beifahrer_GWF_GZA_BF

but SBR for passenger still don't work.

Maybe I have to set to active any additional parameters like:
Sitzpositionssensor_Beifahrer
SBR_Sensor_Beifahrer_LIN
SBR_Sensor_Beifahrer_widerstandscodiert ?

Please anybody send me a
CAFD_00000911_00X_00X_00X.ncd file.

No. The 3 Beifahrer codes you set should be all you needed. Did you change only the 3 drop downs to nicht_aktiv, or did you also change the Werte Values too?

No luck. Default is DRL_S, I changed it to TRL_S and that didn't change anything. Haven't tried DRL_HI or DRL_LO yet but I think DRL_HI will make the angel eyes extra bright in daylight; I need to try and find out.

I tried coding someone else's car who has I-step F020-12-03-520 and it wouldn't let me read his FEM_BODY with my 48.1 files. Does that mean I need to backtrack and get the 46.4 files? If so, is there an easier way to do this other than downloading another 20-100GB? Perhaps by maybe just obtaining the CAFD file that it is looking for?

There were some orphaned CAFD files around that time. Whenever a new release comes out, I back-check for missing CAFD files and keep them around for just this reason. I don't think you need to revert the whole psdzdata set.

Can you post the name of the missing CAFD file? If you don't have it written down, you can probably find it in the log file that E-sys creates.

Thanks Frogman. I checked the logs and this is the file that I need cafd_00000794-002_020_029; so if I have this file, I can just copy it over to my existing CAFDs and it will work?

Is there a way to find a list of all the orphaned files in case it asks me for more?

Ok, I see a folder on Shawn's server that has 700MB of CAFD files in there and the file is actually in that batch; do I need to do anything else other than copying the file over to the existing folder?

Yep, that's one of the orphaned ones!

Yes, you *should* be able to just copy that one CAFD file into the 48.1 swe\cafd directory and be good to go.

I tried this today too. Mine was set to TFL_S by default and I changed it to DRL_S. What happens now is that the angel eyes stay on full brightness when I switch the side/parking lights on where as before with TFL_S they would dim. When I put the low beam/main lights on they still dim though.

From a search I think DRL_H is just for halogen lights
1: DRL_H via beam, halogen U.S. (without lights)
2: DRL_L via low beam

I thought that only happened between 1-3 MPH, with the door open and with no seat belt on.

It's actually a pretty good safety feature- imagine a valet parking your car in a tight spot and thinking he shifted into park, but he is actually in reverse. Easy to do if you are not familiar with the press to park button.
