328i JB4 (Stage2) E85, 13.0@109 Run
Some more updates for the Stage2
BMS was out doing some VBOX testing with the 328i. 0-60 in 4.6s and a best 1/4 mile time of 13.0@109. Knocking on 12s door. The car is still completely stock other than the JB4 and E50 fuel. This was using map 7 which peaks at 23psi. They are planning to do some pump gas dyno testing later this week. |

Awesome results!! Throw on a turbo-back exhaust and some better tires and you are EASILY in the 12's!

I'm sure he was in sport mode, unless he was going for most mpg in a 1/4 mile.

The modes are indistinguishable at wot, so you can dyno in any of the the modes and make the same power. So if your are flooring it, it does not matter.

It's only a matter of time!
I vow to dyno within a week of receiving this tune. If I'm lucky, BMS will need an N26 for Beta

Wanted to resurrect this post because I found it interesting...was this car a manual or auto? I'm curious to see updated VBox figures as well. I'm sure the Stage 2 tune has been tweaked a bit since March, so that alone should be good for 12s at 110+. With a turbo-back on top, this setup should move.
I'm curious what the limiting factor is for testing on a higher mix of E85. Is straight E85 in the tank out of the question or perhaps too risky for the fuel-system? |

To get to the desired 100oct to run Map7, I mixed my 91oct with 45-50% E85 (~105oct) as recommended. I can't speak for the N20 engine, but the N26 that I have will not successfully work with a 45-50% E85 mix while close to or at WOT. The engine hesitates, studders, and bogs down. To troubleshoot at the time, I switched to Map2 and then Map1, all Maps had the same problem. Once I filled up again, I blended my 91oct with enough E85 (roughly 15%) to get to 93oct so I could run Map2. Once I did this, all problems went away...this applies to Map1 as well. In the future, if I would like to run Map7 again, I'll have to fill up with 100% (traditional) 100oct.

For my own records, I ran a baseline on my 335i a couple weeks ago and installing BMS Stage 1 tomorrow then throwing it back on the dyno. Planning on recording any upgrades as I go along so that I can see the differences as well. I'll post up charts tomorrow night when I get them from EAS. Not looking for Molly, then? LOL
