All of these cars mention in that list are absolutely BORING, apart from the 4 series and the S klasse!

Is the i3 a game changer?

A very interesting article about the i3 from AUTOCAR. From the streets of Frankfurt during the motor show.

quote from the article: "I liked and continue to admire cars like the Leaf and Ampera, but always from afar. The difference is I actually want an i3"

Why you pay $138k for a BMW i8 (base price) when a Tesla could be had for 50% less (base) and 30% less fully equipped?

Is the Tesla a sportscar?

No.

The Tesla resembles a very good-looking luxury sport sedan. The i8 resembles a quick, nimble, exotic, and conceptual supercar.

If thats your definition, I'd buy one of the Tesla Roadsters used.

Then again, I'd rather have a Porsche 918 instead of either of them.

Regardless, this is a thread about 2014 car of the year, of which none except the Tesla Sedan is nominated.

As I also posted over a week ago, going by the past number of years, the car that wins is almost always a low price joke.

VW Golf / 2013 / MSRP $18k-$36k

Personally, I'd say Tesla is the winner, but they seem to go for cars under $37k MSRP. Considering that and the past "winners", I'd adjust my expectations (and definition) of "winner" accordingly.
