Modding a car is never "practical". Do what you like and have fun with it. Over the years I've cracked bumpers and front lips, ripped out fender liners, etc. Just be prepared for the carnage and it's all good

Lowered looks sharp...but for most roads, especially in SoCal, not very practical. As I mentioned, my car is stock height and I have to do the 'import slant' to get up a driveway without scuffing the underside of my bumper. Parking stall bumpstops are another danger..even at stock. I'd go crazy if I lowered the car. For those that can get away with it, awesome.

F30_utah I believe, but when I tried to find him I couldn't. Not sure how I was able to reach him, but he had a local company called "strafe design" in utah make that splitter for him. You can reach the company @brandonkone on ig

Yup...did the underside prior to it being custom painted. It's not visible, strengthened the whole lip and it takes the abuse when I "carefully" bottom out Edit: If you zoom in on the first photo..., you can BARELY see the black edge .

Fellow South Beach BMW owner. The only thing I would be worrying about is height over our many challenged street surfaces, manhole covers, parking ramps, etc.
I already crawl over them with my M sport front end. I would love a front lip, but can't imagine it lasting very long, and would then be worried about what else would get torn off with it. I am looking into adding a front camera, just to avoid parking bumpers more easily. |
