"off" "ready" WHAT IN THE -______- why the hell would they put that ugly shit on the odometer. oh gawd why

edit: still hate the boomerang -.-
It's exactly the same odometer found in the F30 3er.
Off/Ready is on the revcounter so you can see the difference between engine off and engine auto-start/stopped, since you can't hear a difference.

€: whoops. I was kinda slow with my reply.

Instead it has the insignificant feel of the C Class coupe, which always looked to me like an afterthought of a design altogether. Judging by the pictures this 4 series is just lacking the road presence. It will blend in nicely with Civic and Accord coupes...just another plain coupe, but with a roundel this time.

I hope seeing it in real life will prove me wrong.
i agree. A5, depite its age, looks better than this 4er.

BMW seems to be worried about 6 series cannibalization

It seems as if BMW deliberately kept this new 4 series from looking too good or luxurious to prevent folks from choosing it instead of the 6 series. The interior does indeed look cheap, certainly not befitting a car that will sticker in the $50-60K range.

i think the f30 looks cheap inside too. comparing my e90 to the f30, ill take a used e90 any day of the week. Anytime i get a loaner, i hate it. it does not feel refined at all. I cant imagine the f32 being any different. They basically cut corners to produce the f32 by just using f30 stuff. I cant justify the price tag anymore. Its bad when my wife even says the interior is junk and cant believe its a bmw. With the 1er getting xdrive, if i decide to stick with Boring Marketing Works, ill get a 1er sedan when they come out with that. Itll be a perfect e46 replacement for me.

Two thumbs down !

Don't wanna see this hideous design anywhere near my garage!

I am really disappointment too!

I might end up buying out my 335is at the end of the lease till I find something I would actually like to pause and look at it every time before getting in the car !!!

I must say this article hits the spot;

This must be because it's a pre-production model but they are std seats not sports seats.

I agree with many here that this is really 'meh' and I have been sooo looking forward to this coming out. I imagine an M Sport with decent rims and sports suspension will make a big difference to the look but I am starting to get nervous...

I agree, it is unacceptable that outgoing car got more modern tail lights than its successor. I think that BMW doesn't care about customers anymore, but only about profits. F32 is a dissapointment.

I think its equivalent to the e92 base car in looks...doesn't warrant a second-look. Need to get the MSport !

Yes. Even a cheap Mercedes A-Class has plenty of LED front and rear lights (turn signals, DRL f/r, brake lights +).

Maybe SCOTT26 can get an explanation?!?

what explanation are you looking to get? theres no explanation. the explanation is that bmw is relying on its name to sell cars and not its ability to make nice cars. its all style over substance for them nowadays

i think its time to start looking at other brands. especially when the competition offers SO much more in this same price segment. the new e-coupe has a full glass roof which not only tilts (like the 6 series) but also slides. the 6 doesnt even slide and its 20-30k more than the e-coupe. that is truly a disgrace. you can claim all you want how you dont "need" features like that, but its more about the principle. fact is, all of BMW's competitors offer more tech and more luxury features for the same price.

IMHO I think the exterior is nice enough, but a bit conservative which is what business buyers want and it's likely a mid exec car in the end. Interior is a real shame.

6 series is still the one for me.. If only I could justify its cost!

I agree. I went to my A5 w/ S-line from an E92 a year and a half ago and haven't regretted it. I was a little apprehensive at the time, having owned two E46s before the E92, but I didn't want to wait almost two years for the F32. Now I REALLY don't regret keeping my E92 for...this. Is is good looking? Eh, yea. Is it earth-shatteringly beautiful or striking? No, although the M-Sport package makes it look a lot better, especially up front.

I loved my E92 and would get the occasional parking lot compliments, but I get now I get that AND people flat out staring and doing double takes at my A5, which is says something about its (now old) styling. And the A5 has always had FULL LED taillights, unlike this brand new Bimmer. Ridiculous that BMW has done this incandescent bullshit for the first gen E46, E92, and now F32, only to switch to full LEDs with the LCI. Christ, Kias have full LEDs in the rear. What a joke, BMW.

I thought I'd probably come back to BMW after three or so years with this A5. Now, I highly doubt that. The next-gen A/S5 will probably be out in another couple years. I'm eagerly waiting for that... Sorry, BMW.

This one is UGLY times 10. I hope I'm wrong... I've already put up my e92 on sale... now i'm thinking to take the add off.
