Adaptive Headlights
Guys,
Has anyone got the Xenons and Adaptive Headlights? If so, just wondering what colour the foglights are (when they're being used for the Adaptive Headlights) - are they white, so match the Xenons; or yellow??

Yep, got the Visibility Pack. The fogs are standard filament bulbs so not as 'white' or bright as the Xenons.

Cheers Rob, do you think it's worth changing them to a whiter bulb, or are they 'white enough'?

Changing the fogs to a brighetr/whiter temperature would certainly even up the look of the front
(Would be nice to have LED indicators too, but not sure there's an error-free solution for that right now)

I think I may get my dealer to fit some whiter fogs for me for delivery, might be able to get them to do it for free...any recommendations on a whiter bulb to better match the white of the Xenons?
Yes I was disappointed to find out LED indicators haven't been carried over from the E90 LCI, from the side of the car the bulb flashing is inconsistent between the indicator LED in the mirror, and the front/back, due to the non/LED fading in and out! Don't think I'll tackle that though, could cause some problems with warranty etc...

Just ordered some of these for the front fogs, hopefully they'll do the trick!

How often do you expect to use them? I think I use my front fogs maybe 5 times a year? Not worth it IMO. Having said that, the adaptives use the fogs when making tight turns so maybe I'm talking shoite

They also use the fogs when you have your indicator on and the wheels are straight, as well...

Of course wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't for the adaptive headlights, but as they'll be in use a lot, seems daft that they're yellow when the Xenons and DRLs are white!

Thinking about it, the bulbs on the F30/F31 are quite a mixed bag:
Xenon or halogen (headlights), LED (Xenon DRLs, number plate lights, door mirror indicators, tail lights, puddle lights, interior lights), regular filament (non-Xenon DRLs, brake lights, front/rear indicators, front/rear fog lights, reversing lights)...? Will probably change with the LCI too

In the first pic the new bulb is on the left, the original on the right. I also swapped the yellow indicator bulbs for silver bulbs. Thankfully I already had the bulbs from the E92. I never use my front foglights but as mentioned they are used by the adaptive lights. |

Looks great Richard, definitely worth doing! I've also got Philips SilverVision indicator bulbs ready to go in What colour temp. did you get for the new fogs, and are they as good a match in person?

They are Philips Silver Vision indicators. The fog lights are GP Thunder 7500K which I got for the Angel Eyes on the 335D. If anything they do look a little blue, perhaps a lower temp would be better. On the E92 they were perfect but you didn't see the bulb.
