Man I'm bummed to see you go... I would have put money on you being one of the first to take the leap on a Hexon/Pure Stage 2 Turbo and full ECU Flash tune. Was eagerly awaiting your write-ups.
Hope the N55 treats you well! |

Very sad to see you go, thanks for all of the information you have provided to the F30 community! Congrats on the E92, she's a beauty and seemingly much better suited for the power you're looking for. Enjoy!

BC coils are on there way!! I'm waiting to be able to buy FBO's all at once. I have sold my JB4 and DP. Waiting to sell the intake, IC and CP's. Selling for ridiculously cheap, I want my new parts!!
After an old school hand polish and wax. My hands are feeling it Paint is in good condition and didn't necessarily need power for paint correction nor do I have a buffer, lol. |

OP, thanks for sharing, fun read. Good choice on the E92 335. Any thoughts on why you went N55 instead of N54 (i.e. older 335 or 335is) |

UPDATE
Hey everyone. I wanted to check in to give an update and to bring closure to the latest issue that i was having with my 328. One thing that i had never mentioned was that directly prior to the hesitation issue i was having above i had changed the spark plugs. I was having some maintenance work done to my current e92 335i, spark plugs being one maintenance item. During this procedure my indy shop, which has become a good friend of mine, informed me that you have to perform an adaptation procedure. Similar to having to register new batteries. This needs to be performed to reset the ignition system to a "new" state. After receiving this info i am certain this is what was causing the hesitation in the 328. If i had known this then i would still be in it. Its still mind blowing this procedure is needed for spark plugs. On the other hand i am really happy with my e92 335i, more so than the 328i. |

i wasn't sure if you were saying in other words "why would bmw have/need such a procedure" as I feel this procedure is ridiculous.
The resetting of the ignition system needs to be done through the DME. I am not sure if ESYS is a capable system or do I know what system my guy used, I don't believe it was ESYS. Does this answer your question? |

The reason these plugs cause an issue is that they are designed to run hotter for better fuel economy not colder for performance. So it seems that this hotter plug is the main culprit behind the stuttering. As a result I changed my plugs (after much investigation) with the Bosch F80-M3-S55 "High Power" plugs that are designed to run colder and in performance engines. Yes they fit and use the same thin walled socket. Following this the stuttering went away completely and the engine just purrs! I did the change myself and have had no issues whatsoever. I did remove the negative of the battery when I did the change, so maybe that somehow reset the DME. If there is a place to reset this in the code, perhaps GSR Autosport know about it and how that's done? |

Once upon a time......:)
Considering I sold out a couple years ago I never stayed in touch with the forums with my e92. For those interested you can follow me on IG @e9d2
I have not daily'd the car for the last year and a half. Until my recent move 4 weeks ago to Orlando I have had to start . Some modification may be made to make it more practical for everyday driving. Enjoy! |
