That did the trick! I just disabled the Google app stuff in the System Settings. After shutting the car down and restarting, I now now see a major boot time improvement. I am now getting into CarPlay in under 40 seconds from a cold boot (before this last change it was 1 minute 35-45 seconds). The time savings, with the no delay in CarPlay launching, makes this SOOOOO MUCH BETTER NOW!

Where did you disable them? in the factory menu? or in an app or something?

Screenshot below.

In the Android menu:

1. Settings
2. Settings
3. Apps
4. There are 'tabs' across the top of the window (Downloaded, Running, All, Disabled) - do the next step for items on 'Running' & 'All' tabs
5. Tap each Google related app (i.e. Google Play), or maybe it was a tap-&-hold, and there is then an option to stop the app as well as disable. Disable each of these that you know you don't want running.
6. Review all you've disabled on the 'Disabled' tab (and re-enable any, if needed).

Sorry the image is a little blurry, but this is in the Apps section of Settings. The right side is showing a list of the apps I have disabled.

Hello all.
So I have upgraded speakers, tweeters, mids and amp. I understand gen1 4.4 Is not great for sound quality so can anyone please inform me if the new gen2 7.1 Is as good as standard Cic professional unit or will I be disappointed and should hold off buying it?
Really appreciate any input as am keen to purchase if sound quality is decent.

The unit from Avin is available it seems (selectable when ordering for +50USD)

Hi guys,
I'm installing my 10.25" Avin system on a BMW X3 E83 model, I ordered also the optional iDriver controller/knob, but I can't understand where to connect its cable.
I don't have a free connector on the back of the monitor, or in the main cable from the radio business cd.

Where have I to connect it?
Do you have a picture to understand better?

I use CarPlay with BMW OEM bluetooth. Every time I plug my iphone and start the Auto Play app Carplay starts and takes over the bluetooth audio so I have to take my phone and change output audio back to bluetooth. Has anyone found a way to fix this?

Not possible i think, you have split screen on OEM side, but it's useless...

Anyway, guys who disabled Google apps, how do you install apps than, for example navigation, which app you're using? Sygic wont work without Google play services?

I mostly use CarPlay, however Sygic works for me even when having google apps and services disabled.

How to update Firmware.xml, cartype.xml and APK list once the Firmware is updated ?
because i dont have ID6 Menu enabled even after my Firmware update.
Can anyone help me pls how to get ID6 Menu in this AVIN device ?
i am using latest Firmware from Avin. I have every now and then No Signal error also.

You can copy Factory.xml (you wrote Firmware.xml, but I don't know if such file exists) and Cartype.xml into folder called OEM and put that folder in the root of sd card. Than when you power the unit, go to system setup, and there you'll find option to update those files.

I've read that it's the top slot, but it looks like mine is occupied with a card or a dummy, and I can't find an easy way to remove it.

The solution was to use the bottom slot, it's not a sd eating black hole with this model.

I think you need resoft navigation but where do you get it and how do you do it ....

Not yet. i bought it on Aliexpress. ist almost 10 Months without Problems. Now i have all of a sudden nonresponsive Unit.
I dont know what to do. Still in contact with the seller. Hope i will get a solution soon.

Is there a way to use stock navigation while streaming music to android(A2DP stream - music)? My unit automatically disables BT stream once switch to stock menu (car info) no matter what screen you are on (even Aux).
