Any chance you have the black mirror caps? I'd love to see how that looks.
Sorry, no. I have a luxury so matching mirror caps.

How well does BMW's mineral white age over time?

What I mean is Audi's Pearlescent White looked terrific when brand new, but it seemed to acquire a very ugly yellowish tint over the years. See a ten year old Audi pearlescent white car and you'll see what I mean. Metallic white was popular on Infiniti's a few years ago, and they too experienced yellowing.

Does BMW's paint do the same? Or perhaps there isn't enough history to tell?

Mineral white is definitely worth the extra bucks over alpine. There's a thread (I think in Canada under regional forums) of people with mineral white posting pictures. Check it out, and I'm sure you'll be hooked

I've yet to see a Interwebz pic where you can see any difference.

Look at how in both daylight and night time, you can see an iridescence to the white. Alpine is very flat and stark, mineral white's finish gives it more depth.

No point trying to convince him, he's either blinkered or the poor guy has eye trouble - he's probably just born that way.

Because of a dealer error, I got mineral white instead of alpine. It cost me more, but when I saw it, it was worth it. We'll see how it ages, but for now, I'm delighted.

I have Mineral White and it is the nicer white. I still dont understand why we have to pay extra for metallic paint though. My partner has a Suzuki Swift with pearl white, comfort access, bluetooth connectivity with album art, alcantara seats, stiffer suspension, parking sensors, rear view camera for $10k.

BMW shafts you on options pricing.

I can tell the difference. The Mineral looks a bit more silvery in some light but also can almost have the appearance of like a frozen white at times. ALpine which is just white and doesnt have the metallic sparkles in the paint the way the metallics do.

One thing I was told by a detailing guy at the local BMW dealership is that metallic paints reflect more light up through the clear coat, which can cause swirl marks to show up more.

I agree on all points.

Get ready for the posts from 'Murcans that don't understand pricing differences around the world...

I said I couldn't tell the diff on interwebz pics, not in real life.
