F31 330i M Sport Mineral Grey Gloss Black Splitter and Diffuser
So today, I finally managed to fit my Christmas presents, gloss black splitter and diffuser, non-OEM.
After watching loads of YouTube videos, I had a fair idea of what to expect, but I guess when you go non-OEM you never know quite what to expect. Well mine certainly fitted into this camp. The rear diffuser did not want to locate in the top slots. The front splitter didn't line up with the bottom holes and the top fit was about 98%. Oh yeah, FYI the electric towbar, makes things even harder!! However, still really pleased with the results, especially for the price.

Oh FFS just found out the diffuser fouls the towbar, meaning it retracts again and cannot be used!!
Not sure what to do now, don't use the towbar that often, but it has been handy in the past?

Just get a hacksaw and remove the bit that gets in the way, it will be down out of sight, and the splitter isn't a structural part, so it doesn't matter what you do to it. Its pretty common to remove bits of plastic when fitting towbars

Cheers, although I have found that I can simply push the diffuser in until the towbar has finished its pirouette, the towbar electric housing sits on the centre fin. I’m okay with this as I will put some insulation tape on when using.

Before front, bloody low, the low-height ramps gave just enough lift.

My 442Ms look like they have the dreaded corrosion by the centre caps. Given my wife's X5 diamond cut wheels were replaced and are corroding again, my view is to get BMW to refurbish the wheels by painting as I do not diamond cut again. If I can, what do you think will look better grey (not mineral) or black? Given all the gloss black bits on the car, I'm leaning towards black.

I'm currently debating on getting gloss black front and rear splitters or matte for my MG Lci Saloon with the same wheels, I've got gloss black mirror caps too. These pics could help my decision, it looks good!
Black wheels would look good, I have a set of matte black winter wheels and I miss the look with them on. My 442's were re-done by Bmw before I bought it (AUC) but I'm scared they'll corrode so I'm debating to sell up soon and get some aftermarket rep's in black to replace them, I love the 704's from the shadows edition though.. |
