Paint rear reflector but still stay legal idea

I love the painted reflector look but I also like the red reflectors as well. So I want to get some red reflector tape and put it on top of the original reflector. Since the tape will be flesh with the blue bumper, I was thinking I can put a thin piece of black vinyl (2mm) around the red reflectors to give it a "3D" look. I've photoshopped an example. What do you think? My car is Estoril Blue.

Of topic but where did you buy the diffuser from?

I bought one from and eBay vendor and it had a 1.5inch gap on the side...
