Hey guys! New to the forum and new to BMW as well. Just received an email from USR. Hope this helps with the "group buy" question.

Really looking forward to getting rid of the halogens.

"Thank you for contacting us with your follow up, I am happy to help. I confirming with you that we will be receiving the item rather shortly however am confirming with you that we can not disclose the exact date due to logistical efforts however am confirming it will be rather soon. . . .

I am confirming that the Group Buy will be as follows.

1) We are collecting the waiting list for the headlight in which if anyone wants to be part of the group buy, please get on our waiting list by going to the F30 headlight and select notify me
2) Depending on how big the list gets, will dictate the level of discount we for everyone on the list to enjoy.
3) Once we get the item, we will e-mail everyone on our waiting list to notify them the item is here as well as provide a Group Buy Coupon Code that will only be valid for the first 2-3 weeks of release.
"

If they can knock off $100 bucks for the group buy then it is a fair deal for both sides, considering they get a fair share of notifications.

Hey guys. I just thought I would share. I know they're in stock, and they also came in stock for another seller in another thread. This leads me to believe that these are the same supplier (DEPO) and that this post would be relevant here. I received mine today and posted some pics in another thread.

Here's a link to my original post in the other thread: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...6&postcount=78

I can post the pics here in this thread if someone wants, but I didn't do it originally because there might be a chance (1%) that they aren't from the same supplier.

I already asked USR and they said they're not the same, and seeing your photos proves that since there are differences between the two headlights. It's a crazy coincidence that there will be 2 options now after so long.

Thanks for clarifying. I guess we'll have to wait until someone receives their shipment. Only differences I see are the block offs at this point. What else?

Congrats on the headlights! I had such an ordeal going through that seller trying to pay for the headlights. I got this email after about 4 hours of finally paying for a set:

New message from: mbnational (47,586TurquoiseShooting Star)
I apologize for the inconveniences, but the item is completely out of stock and I'm unable to to fulfill the order.
I have taken the liberty to cancel the order and fully refunded.

Sincerely,
MB

As far as differences from MB and USR, if you look closely at the picture the inner housing is not a lens but a reflector covered with a glass (or something - you can see the bulb or at least where the bulb would go).

I noticed that as well. Hopefull, it is minor difference and doesnt alter beam pattern/cut off too negatively.

Depo is an established company and has been building aftermarket headlights for years.

Like scostu said, the major difference is that USR's are made by DEPO while MB's appear to be made by an unknown brand (most likely Chinese). Also, USR's are DOT/SAE certified while there appears to be no marking on MB's headlights (http://www.carlightings.com/what-is-sae-dot/).
Visually, USR's have a projector low beam & reflector high beam while MB has projectors for both.

I believe they're made by ZKW since I saw their logo molded into the other headlight multiple times. Now they could just be off the shelf ZKW components used on an aftermarket light, but if it truly is made by ZKW it'll be a god headlight.

I highly doubt it since ZKW makes OEM headlights and could never be priced so low.

Sounds like if you get in on the group buy and get the Depos.... that's the best deal.

I just got word that USR will have the headlights tomorrow! They will be available to purchase tomorrow through their website.
I can't wait to get these.

Awesome! About an hour ago I did the notify me from their site and noticed there was a dropdown for xenon/led option but the choice was only halogen bulb.

Are you putting h7 leds on this elusive? I wonder if its okay.
