Vinyl Wrapping

Do you guys think that $250 to wrap the roof of my 335 is a good price? Anyone have experience with vinyl wrap? If so, what should I look out for (brand, material type etc.)?

I've heard a roof wrap should be around $250 - $300. I was quoted $400 from 2 different places. Needless to say, I didn't get it done.

Like other said, on the low said of the range of prices unless you have a connect. Usually runs about $300. Just got my F32 EB done and love it.

The grill is a must!! Not a fan of all the chrome. Do you have chrome door linings too?

For sure. Nope, no chrome. Everything else on the car is gloss black.

3M and Avery are big brands. Theirs other brands that are great don't get me wrong but can go wrong with those 2. If your just wrapping your roof have you considered doing it yourself? Its small enough to get some good practice. Material isn't where the price gets high its the time and labor.

Just to wrap your roof in material shouldn't be more than 50-60 bucks depending not the material and type. Just takes some time and if you order enough u should have enough to do it again. Measure twice cut once. use a hairdryer or heat gun and your all set. I wrapped my F31

Honestly I?m open to try anything once, but this seems a little too difficult for me personally. I?d rather have a pro do it. I confirmed with the shop that they use 3M, so that?s a plus. Also, the price is pretty fair (got him down to $275) compared to a few other quotes I received. Went ahead and scheduled an appointment for 12PM tomorrow

That?s a good price, could always be free but for not having to lift a finger or worry that?s good. 3M is a good brand with good life span. Hope it turns out the way you were wanting it ??

I was just quoted $285 by a local shop and it isn't even brand name vinyl. Needless to say, I will definitely attempt this myself. I saw a few videos on youtube and it really doesn't seem that hard. One thing I will say is that it will be a lot easier with 2 people. Also, don't peel the whole vinyl at once. Peel only the area you're working on. This way, it keeps the piece from sticking to each other.

I second that, plus I had to remove the antenna before because I dont want extra big cut outs for that.
Work was done within 3 hours total with cleaning, wrapping, removal/installation.

Yeah id stay away from no name brands. Installation is the same just the longevity of the vinyl will make a difference. Yeah if you can get another set of hands it will make it easier you can even take all the backing off and put it on right just adjust. But you can always play it safe and do sections at a time.

How come the 2 moldings on top weren't done? Unless you didn't want them to be? I think the wrap\roof would flow better IMHO.

I didn?t want them done. There are two openings (for roof rack accessories?) where the vinyl didn?t look good at all. Decided to leave it white because my OCD wouldn?t let me sleep if I knew it wasn?t perfect

For those interested in doing this project themselves, I highly recommend you doing it. The roof is one of the easiest to do. Just have a two step so you can stand closer to roof. Also try not to use heat. Doing cold pre stretch and the triangle method is the way to go. Look up wrap masters. I?ve wrapped plenty of cars(friends and family) and would say it?s easy to do and doesn?t take long. Also recommend 3m knifeless finish which gives you a clean cut line. Always a fun and rewarding project. No matter if you do it yourself or paying to get it done prep the surface and remove contaminates from pint before you seal them in.
