Exhaust Mod
Hi guys, just wanted to share how I modified the stock Exhaust to actually give exhaust sound.
The pdf file below shows the steps to modify the muffler. The exhaust note is throatier and has more bass. With windows up, the difference cannot be noticed without carefully listening. With the windows down, the difference can be heard. Last edited by DLag30; 02-16-2016 at 05:13 PM.. |

This was done on 335i exhausts and definitely made a significant improvement in sound. From the video, it doesn't sound too different. I've done this to a motorcycle exhaust before and by taking out about 80% of the fiberglass inside, it makes the exhaust sound a lot more aggressive. Putting it all back doesn't change the sound.

Yeh I plan on making a organized PDF file in the future. I really just wanted to share it for the mean time.
Also, the exhaust note is throatier. Volume is about the same level as my 330i zhp. If you look in my youtube channel I have more videos.. EDIT here's the other video Last edited by DLag30; 02-05-2016 at 03:19 PM.. |

Do you get any drone or annoying sound in any specific rpm? I want to make my 328i sound better but not be to loud when driving in highway. Want a nice sound when driving in sport mode.

Hey sorry to revive this really old thread, but I kinda did something like this today. I took off a pipe from the left side and added it to the right as a dual exhaust setup. Took most of the fiberglass out from one side. [IMG][/IMG]
