Radar/laser jammer combo recommendation

I just want to know what set-up fellow calgarians are running for radar/laser jammer combo.

I've been doing a lot of research around this and possibly contenders are:

for radar:

1-Valentine V1
2-Escort 9500ix
3-Passport Max
4-STi Magnum

For laser:

1-Al Priority
2-Laser interceptor BMW edition
3-HP 905.

thanks ahead for the feedback!

I have the Passport Max and Escort 9500ix. The MAx filters out a lot of false signal, and the 9500ix is just painful to bear. Highly recommend the Max.

I don't have any experience with laser jammer. I just put the laser shield on the front plate (that's where they point the laser most of the time). It supposedly messes up with their laser beam, and gives your radar detector some time to POP and warn you.

I am a calgarian and am wondering if laser jammers are legal. I know radar detectors are legal in alberta.

escort makes the best all around drivers defence device, they also bought out laser intercepter so the new, after aug . 2014, laser diffuser is the best of the best.

For radar detection either the Valentine 1 with Valentine Connecttion and the YaV1 app from the Google Play store or the Escort Redline.

If you want a custom installed radar detector, go with the Beltronics STiR+.

Laser Jammer: the AntiLaser Priority is the only way to go. It out performs both the Escort and Laser Interceptor laser jammers.

I went with Valentine 1 and I don't regret it at all. I got as well the Savvy and the app phone app.

The Savvy in my opinion is a must, the app (bluetooth connector) not really necessary unless you really want to do lots of modifications.

The arrows make a huge difference; specially for ghost cops. Once that Ka signal goes off I know exactly where to look. The range is amazing and with the options to modify the alarm base on your car speed, it takes care of lots of false alarm like garage doors.

The Savvy connects to the OBD port and the installation can be done so clean and DYI (less than 10 min).

A friend of mine had the passport 9500 and I couldn't really see the benefits of the GPS (at least in my case); and once you get the arrows and the count it is quite helpful.

I was reading about this since the F30 I bought had a laser jammer already installed. From what I read (including this article from a couple of years ago in the Calgary Herald:
http://www.calgaryherald.com/Calgary...357/story.html),
they are legal as they are treated the same as radar detectors by each province.

The unit in my car is a ShifterZR4 laser defense unit. Also using a cheap Cobra XRS radar detector.
