Champions League 2010/2011

Guess it's time to start a thread for the new Champions League season.

First of all, here are today's games (8:45 PM CEST):

Twente - Internazionale
Bremen - Totenham
Lyon - Schalke
Benfica - H. Tel-Aviv
ManU - Rangers
Bursaspor - Valencia
Barcelona - Panathinaikos
Kobenhavn - Rubin

Best regards,
south

No Real Madrid regularly underperform in the Champions League..I think these are some good potential winners:
1) Chelsea
2) Barca
3) Man Utd.
4) Inter/AC Milan..one of those

Man Utd. v. Rangers is the big game today..i say Man U 2: Rangers 0

All good teams, but my bet would be on Real as well. Mourinho knows what it takes to make a winning team out of good players. If not this season, they'll do it next season.

Even though I'm rooting for FC Bayern, I don't see them as potential winner this season. I sure hope to be wrong in this case.

Man Utd v. Rangers was a very watchable game even though the score was 0-0. Man Utd Dominated but Rangers stingy defense didnt allow a goal. A bit unlucky for Man U but they will be fine.

Wowow Arsenal romped..didnt see any of the games today except for parts of the Madrid game...2-0..job done by RM. A few of the big stars have been really struggling lately, Torres of Liverpool, Rooney of Manchester United, Ronaldo of Real Madrid hasnt been creating headlines like he used to. Guess its a combo of too much football with the WC and some injuries.

I'm a big Man U fan, but ever since they sold Ronaldo things have gotten tough. Chelsea is off to a strong start this season, but someone is going to come along and give them an upset.

I'd like to see Barca vs Real Madrid in the final of the champions league. And depending on how the draws work out that is definitely a possibility. It would be like the Manchester United vs Chelsea final a couple years back.

Im a Tottenham Fan, I have a season ticket also and was at the Bremen game. Spurs weren't great but Bremen were worse. Wasn't a really exciting game but got the job done and now through to the knock out stages at the 1st time of asking! On the other hand our game against Liverpool was one of the best games so far this season. It was end to end and to win it in the last minute of the game was amazing...the whole stadium erupted.

Also watched the Man Utd. vs WH last night, Man Utd were shockingly bad, kept giving the ball away very cheaply and terrible defending. West Ham (although I hate to say it) deserved to go through to the Semis.

I just hope the hammers dont get relegated. Although, if they do, they could be back in the same league as Millwall and that could get interesting haha

And here are some excellent goal keeper skills exhibited by Twente's own Sander Boschker.....amazing! He truly lived up to Champion League expectations.

Umm yeah about that..Barcelona would rip Real a new one, just like they did at Camp Nou last week, and might as well embarrass them in Madrid. Barca are unstoppable this season. Chelsea are looking weak, Manchester are looking just awful, looks like Bayern is back on the right track with Ribery back and Tottenham are just on fireeeee. Wouldn't be suprised if they teach Chelsea a lesson next week in the premier league.

and we might as well just cross off Inter, Man U, and Chelsea as contenders this year...Rooney's sh*tt, Berbatov is Man U's model just walking around the penalty area waiting for a good pass, and Hernandez does not get any playtime....Inter are lost without Mourino, and meanwhile Mourino wouldn't be able to take Real all the way to top on his first season. Chelsea might straighten out by the next stage, Tottenham are a dark horse, and Barcelona is looking like a potential winner this season and Bayern are beginning to look good.
