Only 'up to 19 miles' on electric power, hardly seems worth the bother of plugging it in each night.

Am interested simply because in 2-3 years we're going to need to replace the Disco and I'd really like to put through company. So emissions of only 77 coffee thingys would be far better than the 250 or so it's putting out at moment which means there's no way I'm having as a company car as tax costs are way too huge.
Have to say new X5 doesn't do it for me in the looks department and anyway, it's too small. We comfortably fill up the Disco with kids, dogs and crap but interested to see what X7 will be like...

Honestly Terry, you have no idea! Every time we go away, the car is literally packed to the gunnels! Bikes, scooters, blow up beds, toys, pushchair, enough clothing to sink a battleship.... You name it. I'm sure I packed a kitchen sink the other weekend!
We had an X5 - it really hasn't got a huge amount more space than your car for day to day. I use the Disco for work as well - will be full of 1/2 ton of exhibition flooring and furniture, cameras and other bits this weekend :-) Honestly I can't think of anything that betters it as an all-rounder and have a nasty feeling it's the end of an era as JLR are bound to round it off and make it less honest and practical.

Can't argue with your rationale though... To be fair I do the like the JLR products, and the only other company I can imagine buying a car from. Though I do think Mercedes seem to be improving.. is that becasue they are or am I just getting old?!

You're getting old....
Problem is new Disco won't be a square box and that's what makes it so good. Massive room inside and shorter than you'd think. Couldn't quite believe it when we parked my brother's old Cayenne next to it - was lot longer than the Disco. His new Range Rover ends in a different county! I absolutely hate the bloody touchscreen thing and the sat nav is truly atrocious but you can't argue that you get a hell of a lot of car for your money and BMW could learn a thing or two about materials from JLR.
