If you want a bit more margin against rubbing since you will run 45-profil tires just choose 5mm higher offsets front and rear.

F: 8x18" ET35, 245/45-18
R: 8.5x18" ET40, 255/45-18

And you should not add spacers since they push the wheels further outwards which means the risk of rubbing increases.

well with this ET I have a 15mm rear & it's exactly with fender although it's lowered there's no rubbing, so is lower ET pushes the rim out o in to the axle ? what about the handling, stability which is better ?!

I can't go 19" cause of our roads, I want grip, performance without low profile & without bigger rims (19" or 20") with an aggressive look.. so I am thinking of higher offset with wheel spacers.

I am also looking for wheels too now, I am debating between 18 and 19. I use to think 18 gives the best performance and 19 is for the look. But someone told me if I am not taking the car to track, then 18 or 19 doesn't make any difference. Did you do any research on how wheel size will affect performance?

7.5" ET37 with 15mm spacer will be exactly the same as 8.5" ET35 (without spacer) regarding how flush the wheel appears with the fender. 2mm lower offset and 13mm wider wheel on the outside (1" = 25.4mm -> 12.7mm per side), in total 15mm which was the spacer size you used.

I think you can learn alot by just using a wheel offset calculator and try some different combinations of wheel widths and offsets, for example: 1010tires.com

ahh nice info, I think 8.5" up front will be too wide for 245 ?!

Ya i saw this chart comparing between 15 to 19" & 18" was far the best in term of handling but that was ona golf.. of course car is different but same concept

No, it will fit fine.

If you search you will find members with 245 front tires with 8", 8.5" and 9" wide wheels on F30 with ET35. It will just influence how square or stretched the tire sidewall looks.

Front: 19 x 8.5 ET35, 225/40/R19
Rear: 19 x 9.5 ET35, 255/35/R19

M Sport Passive sport suspension (basically lowest you can get from Factory)

Slightly stretched, not too much. No spacers, no rub, still comfortable for DD. Still think I can go more in the front

An example of a staggered setup for F30 without need of spacers:
F: 8.5x18" ET35
R: 9.5x18" ET40

1/2" wheel width corresponds to 6mm in offset, which means that a 8" ET29 wheel will look similar to a 8.5" ET35.
Hi

Planning on going 18" staggered.
Front: 225/45/R18 8J ET35
Rear: 255/40R18 9J ET35

Anyone see problem with rear set up, especially for the offset?
245/40/R18 tire for rear is another option but problem here is, all that the shop has for the model I am looking for this set up is 9J et35..

Don't see any issues with that setup!

The rear wheels will look a bit more aggressive than the front, but it can be solved with front spacers if you like.

correct offset for 17"

Hi guys,

most of explanation here are just "use this", but I would like to have some more data because of two reason.

To explain :
I don't care so much about look, I want something stable and under factory recommendation.

So, I have 16" 205/60 and this is crap, this is unstable in turn.

Because streets here aren't so good I can't go for 18", I wan't to stay on 17"

Most of 17" wheels are 7.5 J which fit perfectly 235 width, which is not in table for the car, 225/50/17 are what I need.

Finally, my goal is :
get optimal offset for the car and to be able to put 235/50/17 without problem (tire can't touch car in full turn).

I even don't understand what offset have my current wheel, this is
V-Spoke 390
and I guess by some different source online this is something between
31 and 34

Most of wheels I've found online for 17" (7.5 J) are something like 37-40-43-46 ... so, question is :

What is minimum to be able to put 235/50/17 (without scratching in full turn) and what is maximum to have stability as this should be ?

Thank you in advance,
Dejan

you may have a tad bit of poke with those wheels. But on the bright side, you would be the newest member of the ill-est hella-flush nation...
