How to turn off auto start stop with a stick...

So I got a 328i EBII M sport loaner with a stick... basically the car I would have ordered had I not bought the Cayman. Initial review- glad I got the Cayman instead. But I did find out something interesting on the drive home. When stopped at a light- if you let the clutch out- the ASS turns off the motor. put the clutch back in and then let it out- turns the car back on and turns off ASS- pretty cool! I know i didnt search and this is probably already been discussed but whatever, I was excited!

Or, as an alternative to letting the clutch out, putting the clutch back in, then letting the clutch out again...

You could press the large button on the dashboard once.

Just sayin'

A quick pump of the brake pedal does the same, and that works on automatics too.

yup, this is why A.S.S is pretty much not annoying (for me at least) on a 6MT. i have the last setting memory coded, but i actually never disable it.

Hum which Cayman did you get to be able to cross shop it with a 328? Is it a used base model?

2009 Aqua Blue base model with manual transmission, xenons, some premium pack (auto washers, heated seats, bose sound) bluetooth, colored crests on wheels I think are all the options

Maybe I've misunderstood this, but here goes...
1. Find a stick.
2. Start your car.
3. Use stick to press Auto Start/Stop "OFF" button. (see picture)
