Yea at this point I may just pay to have it done. Not sure I feel like messing with it again. At one point I did try to trace the sensors back but I didn't have any luck with a quick once over. In past cars I just unscrewed the sensors while I was under the car.

If someone can post a pic of the plugs under the hood before Wed, I'll try it again this weekend. Otherwise I'll just pay to have it done.

Dude, you rock. I actually went to those two plugs but it threw me off b/c the one silver cord turns black and I wasn't sure b/c I couldn't actually see the transition.

I'll be knocking this out Saturday morning....

Has anyone actually received and installed the Challenge catback exhaust? I don't see anywhere to actually buy it. Impressions on how it sounds compared to stock?

I think Challenge has decided that they don't want to share and their car will be the only car on the streets with the Challenge catback

No, in all seriousness, i don't think they've shipped any b/c they were backed up with production of some other products.

BO fills plus stock units are in works now though

Catless and HFC Downpipes are in stock and plenty running around on customers cars though

seems only one member mikew2069 has installed HFC dp from Challenger... even vendor does not have a proper report ...please reply to following questions.

1 . does it throw code ? (HFC dp from Challenger)
2. What is the increase in bhp/TQ to stock.... any dyno comparison ?
3. is there any other brand with effective cat so there will not be any CEL ?

Don't quote me as I'm no expert, but if my understanding on how the exhaust is monitored, you will throw a code eventually if you venture away from stock (even High Flow should read abnormal). You can get a tune to auto delete the code if you want but without a tune it will be there.

Increase should be about 30hp with all else stock, but that is dependent on tunes, with the freer flowing nature of going aftermarket DP you can more safely turn up the boost and get more gains (see Stage 2 JB4 and DP producing 360hp/410tq at the wheels with no other mods).

You can go to the BMS website and look at dynos with stock and tuned and with DP. Looks like their stock car produced about 275hp and stock map produced 305hp with a DP. And up from there using Map and and Map 2.

thanks .. running with JB4 stage 2 -its great... but feels stock cat and dp is restrictive...at the same time if challenger HFC dp throws codes.. it a worry for me.. I will wait till more are installed..

I'm 99% sure it will throw a code (although JB4 Stage 2 would delete it). It's just an exhaust code saying the the cat isn't doing as good of a job as it should with filtering emissions (which is obvious since that's how you're getting more flow).

But should you take it to the dealer and the CEL pops up they'll quickly figure out that you have an aftermarket DP. They can't exactly void your whole warranty because of it (maybe exhaust related issues should they creep up). The general idea is that if something breaks and they can attribute it to a mod then it's on your dime to fix it. Not sure what a freer flowing down pipe could break though. Rumor is that it's actually easier on the turbos but I've only heard a person or two mention that as it's not usually the selling factor.

That pretty much sums it up. There are actually quite a few people running Challenge's HFC dp and a couple have reported no codes. I'm running the JB4 so it deletes any would be dp cel.

We have about 15-20 HFC downpipes out there with no CEL. I have only seen once customer so far that has had it pop up. It would only come on every once any awhile though. Unfortunately BMW changes software versions often and sometimes changes O2 sensor sensitivity so we can never guarantee no CEL but so far its looking good

I was the guy who would get CEL light, but it only seemed to happen when I put in 100 Octane.

Also, it wouldn't always be up. Was more sporadic than anything, and seemed to reset and turn off on its own. But then, when I would put in a new batch of 100 octane, it would pop up.

JB4 stage 2 eliminated the CEL completely.

Also, I am completely satisfied with my Challenge HFC DP. Sounds great, and hauls ass. Just my 2 cents.

Anyone using the Challenge HFC or Challenage exhaust + HFC with the new F30 BMW Power Pack that was released? I'm looking for an 'all-clear' on CEL's and whatnot.

My plan was to get the dealer upgrade; then the HFC. But with the dealer stuff on backorder; I'm going to do the exhaust while I wait on Germany I think. Anyone?

I haven't had anyone use the HFC with the power pack yet. Most of our customers have been using the Burger tuner that I have talked to.
