New map up for testing, quick turnaround from PTF - but the car's away for the week, i'll report back next weekend i thin - hopefully i won't blow up the turbo !
Any update on the latest map? I have requested support over a week ago but I'm not getting any response from PTF.
Sorry guys, has been hectic recently - i haven't had time to do proper full throttle pulls to log, i've done some testing driving around and it seems fine but i need to log a couple of real pulls to confirm.

What would be the differences between your custom tune and the OTS one?

There’s a bit of confusion here, i’m not making a custom map, i’m testing adjustments to the OTS maps so PTF can release an updated OTS map that has no more issues, hopefully very soon.

Halim@PTF has been very helpful despite all that’s going on with B58 engines support, and we now have a stable map, be it at idle or under heavy load.

You should join our facebook group BMW activehybrid by the way

So I've been following this thread since the beginning in plans of buying BM3 at some point but am now getting around to selling the car soon.
I originally purchased a tune from Gintani with a bit of hesitation as they said they'd take the time to work out all the bugs with the tune that they make me knowing it'd be individual to my car, as of December 2018 they stopped replying to my emails, refuse to communicate, and I just emailed them for updated software so I can flash it back to stock even though I doubt I'll get it. Sad that I had to find out the hard way the nightmares of their bit of bad history.
What are my options for flashing the DME back to stock if I can't get the software emailed to me if any? Thanks in advance guys.

Bm3 will let you flash back to stock as they rebuild from original bmw maps

Hi guys, I’ve just got myself a AH3 and I was interested in tuning it. I don’t know much about tuning although I want to decat it, install a bms intake and get a map around it. Would I be better off going to get it tuned at a reputable tuner? I want to be able to have burbles and bangs (maybe even abit of flames if possible) and I don’t want to be going back and forth to the tuner for tweaks and stuff. Just want something solid.

All advice is appreciated

Finally bit the bullet and made the switch from JB4. While the Bluetooth interface and control with the iPhone is vastly superior to bm3 setup imho, the way the car drives is better in every way. I got stage 1 93 and it is faster than JB4 in map 1,2 and 5. I've used a JB4 for 8yrs (5 on my n54, 3 on ah3) so I am pretty well versed in its operation , even the old duty bias tuning on n54. I felt that the n54 implementation was superior in how it really felt like it took over the car vs on the n55 it's didn't seem to have the level of control. I added the ewg connector to the JB4 and made a HUGE improvement esp in map 5 where i left it (should be standard). Either way I'm happy I made the switch. The car is smoother and faster. My flash failed the first time leaving the fuel pump running, I had multiple heart attacks, then disconnected the battery. Came back 30 mins later, I flashed it again and it worked perfectly with online recode.

Overall well worth the cost as the car feels amazing. May keep JB4 for meth control in the future though.

Hi everyone I've been tuning for about 18 months. Here is what I have by way of upgrades:

CP Carrillo pistons and rods
Intercooler
Air intake
Catless DP
Chargepipe
Diverter valve
Bm3 stage 2
Jb4 mostly for logging

Car runs fine. No obvious issues. Occasionally after a multi gear pull I might sense a slight hesitation around 220kmh+ which is the HPFP struggling I think. A fractional lift and it is full throttle up to 260+. Mostly I get 15 to 17 psi boost across the gears. I use fuel additive to get the Ron up to at least 98.

On the internal readout of HP and Torque in the info screen I hit about 330 to 340 kw peak and 650 to 660 NM (visual estimate). This is only a guide but an interesting comparison to what you are seeing in your cars.

Next I am planning meth. In my experience the weak link is the HPFP so meth will help.

No dyno yet.

You did a forged bottom end? Did you blow up the stock motor or just build it?

HPFP can usually max out the stock turbo, but 17psi with a good intake and exhaust setup is about the limit of both. Low ambient temps will make the HPFP struggle more.

Hello, I recently flashed with bm3 the 91 oct, I’m having issues it seems with shifting gears/ hard shifts, it seems the trans or something is causing it to slow shift then grab under 5 mph and in 3rd, on the highway it seems 6th just revs and I don’t accelerate. Any info or maybe a way to upgrade/transmission flash would be helpful.
