Production finished, how long does it usually sit at port before it gets on a boat?

I think that ours sat for about a week from end of production until it was loaded on a ship. Actually was on a ship faster than we thought it would be.

Can I ask, when did you order your car. I ordered my 2014 435i convertible May 26th, it is still 4 days away from docking. I think it waited almost 10 days to get on a boat?

Keep checking the 800 number. They will let you know when your car has been released to the port. After that, start watching shipping schedules. Both WW and K-Line. We just knew that we were on a WW ship and then found out it was the Columbia Highway, which was K-Line. Also keep after your CA.

Sounds like a winner. What color interior did you go with? Our 428i vert is Mineral Grey with Saddle Brown. Would have gone with the M-Sport, but could not get the interior we wanted.

I love the Saddle Brown, wife hates it? That interior you got looks great. I went with the Dakota Black with Blue Highlights. Dark Burl Walnut trim. Look what just showed up, my sig line, with some info on the car. I added it 3 hours ago.

The waiting is tough, but consider yourself lucky. Ordered my 435 M Sport Vert on April 1, wasn't built until June 28, left B'Haven July 8. You probably just missed a boat, think they dispatch two boats per month to each coast. Congrats, enjoy.

Wow, that is unbelievable that it took that long to get to a build. Was it due to waiting on an allocation or some other issue. Glad it is finally on its way to you. Enjoy.

I really don't know, can't get a straight answer. I've been told: 1) there was a problem with the convertible top; 2) there was a problem complying with emissions control; 3) there was a problem with the wheel supplier; 4) there was a problem with the tire supplier. My enthusiasm has not waned, however having feelings of remorse saying goodby to my '11 Z4.

We placed our with our dealer May 5th, waited for about three weeks before dealer was able to trade for a convertible allocation and order was finally slotted. Told that it would begin no later than the 9th, actually started on the 5th of June, was done by the 12 the and on the ship by the 20th. We never heard on any problems about suppliers or so forth.

Not saying your dealership is not being upfront, but I would bet that they had to hunt for an allocation just like my dealership did. I have seen where similar issues have arisen with other buyers. At least my dealership admitted lacking a slot, but insured me that they would find one.

Just my two cents.

You won't miss the Z when you actually have back seats, and the power upgrade won't hurt either

I actually do miss my Z. But I had the N54 variant

My 428i M Sport is on the Metis Leader as well, it waited for a little more than two weeks at the port though!! Wait is killing me but its good to know its already on its way!

I'm leaning toward the lack of allocation, but think the dealer may be embarrassed to admit it. BMWNA was echoeing the dealer, or, visa versa. Do I hear the sound of shrugging shoulders?
