Thats quite incorrect.

The nineteen states that require only one plate on the rear bumper are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia.

I never checked but i imagine you should be able to take them right off with the bumper out of the way.

Thanks for posting this up. Took out two raccoons in 10 days and ripped apart the front splitter on my F30. Finally got nice enough to tear into it today.

is anyone knows how to adjust bumper or hood, because my hood sits much lower than bumper?

Hmm, is it really necessary to do all this just to remove the license plate frame?

I haven't tried to squeeze my hand up there, but it would be really difficult to do without removing the bumper due to where the screws for the plate bracket are. That's directly in front of the steel bumper beam.

And another issue at the time when I got the car it was so new (no diy for anything) there was no way of telling where all the screws were and what type of torx bit it used so the wisest way to proceed without damaging anything was to remove the bumper.

Pic 8 is showing plastic arrow tabs, but I can't see them. Can anyone shed some light into where they are located? Underneath that air duct?

Edit: found them.

I got the bumper back together but I fear I may need to re-do it, the portion above the grills at the driver's side headlight is pulled lower than before, misaligned with the hood. I retrofitted the adaptive headlights, maybe the headlight is what's pulling that side down? If anyone has insight it would be much appreciated.

Try playing around with the top torx screws being loose if it's misaligned. Find the right spot and then tighten. If problem persists something isn't aligned correctly.

I thought about it and it seems the only other thing that dictates the position of that top edge is the headlights, given that tab that the bumper slots into. I loosened the headlight housing and found a fair amount of available upward motion, so I took up all that slack and tightened them about as high as I could. That definitely fixed my problem.

Good, glad you were able to get it resolved.

I'm not sure the f32 fascia is a bit different, I've never taken one apart but I would assume it's 90% the same fasteners and locations.

I can't find them either. My bumper is slightly different. Any more detail? Possibly a zoomed out picture?

Interesting...my last 3 BMWs (2007 E92, 2011 E88, and 2013 F30) were delivered with no front plate bracket despite being required by Texas (where I lived at the time) law. Never had any problems, and now that I'm in North Carolina (where only the rear plate is required), I have no need for one.

I never quite understood that either. When I purchased that car it had it on, it was an Indiana fleet car and we don't require front plates either. The bracket is actually designed to fit the long Euro plates and our narrower U.S. Plates all in one.

I don't require front plates in Indiana thank goodness they make the car look so ugly.

It might be made to hold it but it certainly isn't a US factory plate holder, those are much different and are just screwed in.

I find it very very weird that this car came with a euro plate holder.

At launch the cars had this as the US holder.
