Agreed but from a "personal View" waste of my money.

Agree in a 3 Series it may be a lot of extra cash to get very little extra useable performance but in a vehicle like an X5 the twin turbo is well worth the extra cash as the 30d feel a little underpowered due to the weight.

With the 313hp engine the 0-62 mph time is reduced by 0.6 secs, so 0-62 mph is 5secs for a 335/340d sDrive and 0-62mph is 4.7 secs for an xDrive.
Quite a significant improvement IMO.

My X3 35D M Sport went like stink, the torque was good, slightly better in punch than this 330D M Sport, so as you say worth it on those cars.

Having just traded in my A4 Quattro for a F31 330d, i can honestly say leaving BMW to go to Audi (335i coupe 3 years ago) was a massive mistake. They could put the engine from the starship enterprise in their soulless, dull, grey, uninspiring, dead behind the eyes bag of offset driving poop and i would still stick with what i now have.
Having a massively powerful engine is great but saddle it to a chassis and steering column designed for folk more concerned with how shiny their air vents are than steering feedback and its wasted for me. You can put lipstick on a pig but in the end, its just a pig in lipstick. |

Can't see any 3 Series except an M3 being 0-60 in less than 5 secs, they don't need to concentrate on the 0-60 for the 335/340d as their power will be more beyond this point.

0-60 times are only one measure of performance and is quite artificial. The biggest difference between a 330D and 335D could always be felt in the mid range punch when you kick down. |

Especially remapped! I prefer the F31 330D over the remapped E92 335D I had mainly because of the new 8 speed gearbox, but a new 335D would be very tempting
