Oh, well. Given the situation I won’t rag on your dad too much…but I will just a little. I’m going to guess he’s not a big car guy. He definitely doesn’t appreciate the difference between a four banger and an inline six and the reason an inline six costs more and is worth more. It’s a shame.

Yeah he’s like a car guy in the way where he could tell you the safety and reliable rating on pretty much every single modern day, but he doesn’t really care about speed or fast cars (unless it’s a 1982 Pontiac TA.) but like you said he doesn’t understand the difference between 4 and 6cyl, and what the inline 6 can become with a few mods. It’s okay though I’m very fortunate because I’m still driving at 2021 bmw.

Yes, you are!! And that’s a great attitude and appreciation!! And there’s no denying he was very generous getting one for his 16 or 17 year old son. Not many of us here started out in a BMW that’s for sure.

You're looking at the wrong "power mods" Skip the intake, skip JB4/Dinan. Grab a proper tune, then add DP and stage 2 tune if you want more power.

Indeed you are fortunate enough to be driving a new BMW at your age. I was picking up chicks at 17 years old in an 83 Ford Escort and had to turn off the AC to go up hills lol.

if you want to go faster, these give you the most performance gain per $
Part1=BM3 or MHD stage 1 flash tune with FTP or MST turbo inlet
Part2=catted(or catless) downpipe and upgrade flash to stage 2. i recommend active autowerke catted downipe out of miami. it is not cheap. black friday is around the corner.

more more info, here is your (G20/B48) engine mod sub-forum

Not sure if I want to flash tune or not yet.

His father already denied the trade and I don't blame him. I'd probably prefer my kid in a newer vehicle that may still have warranty as well.

I was 20 when I got my first BMW. 1999 328is w/51k in 2004. Drove that E36 all the way into 2017, and subsequently had a 2002 330i and 2000 528 wagon until May of 2021 when I purchased my 2018 F30 w/14k.

You're a young kid driving a newer car than this 38 year old. Granted I have more expenses now like a house and family and other things. But you're way ahead if you can afford to drive a 2021 330i. This is only the beginning.

Coming from those old BMW's I've driven my whole life, my 330i is quite a bit more athletic than those older BMW's. My eyes are set on LCI X3 M40i now. Maybe new.
