September Lease Rates

Are people expecting these to be better, worse or no different to the August numbers? I'm guessing they'll be released tomorrow or the 3rd?

I ask because my car is at the dealer and I can either get it now (August) or wait for September numbers.

Thanks in advance.

If you're locked in for your August rates, I'd wait. Is it a lease or purchase? Residuals may change as well.

This is a lease, so looking for the best possible rates. Not locked into anything.

From my little observation, 2013s have sold quite well with the incentives on.

The residuals for the 2014 will hopefully improve in September, I really hope! My car is coming sometime in October. I guess you will know in a couple of days!

If you are not locked, then if the rates and residuals get worse in September, you will have to pay more.

I'm in the same boat, but I'm locked for 90 days. So, if it gets better between now and October, I can take advantage of it.

Is it possible to be not locked in? I thought you get the rates by default locked in when you place an order. Correct me if there is an additional step somewhere.

That's what I though and asked about, however, if you buy cash you don't need it. In my case SA ran my credit app and locked MF and residual for 90 days. I suppose some people don't care and will take a deal whatever is current.

Dealers, can packet your deposit and sell your car if you decide not to buy it for any reason.

The dealer has to call you into BMWFS for an approval on rates for you to be locked in. Placing an order for a car doesn't do that

August rates are good through the 3rd so Sept rates will be out on the 4th.

Aren't you locked in after your credit app is approved? Or does the dealer need to go through an additional step?

I think it's pretty simple, you're either locked or not. Once you're locked you can re-lock them if they improve, which I hope happens for everybody's sake.

Let us know as soon as you find out, they do differ based on individual models though.

Correct, that's what I was saying. A credit app needs to be called in for an approval

Looks like the Residuals have dropped. From the BMW website, for the sample 335, I got 58% for the 10k/yr. Subtract 1% for 12k (57%) and then 2% for 15k (55%). Does that seem right?

I assume this was for 2013 since there are no lease offers for 2014 F30/F32 cars to compute the residuals from.

Ok, looks like BMW prefers to sell now rather than lease.
