Looks So Much Better....?
Does anyone think the difference in looks from the F30 and its predecessor is night and day? I don't mean to offend anyone but this car just looks incredible...Anyone else see this exterior as a BIG step up from BMW and the 3 series?

Yup.. I always disliked the look of the E9X after the E46. And while I absolutely love my F30, I still think the E46 is a winner when it comes to the exterior. Like my wife said to me the other day: "I wished they put all the technology and everything from the F30 into the E46, now that would be one awesome car"

E90 did not have the cockpit feel that the E46 did...F30 definitely brings that back..

I didn't like the e90. The back end and interior looked pretty awful. I really like the F30. Not sure if I like it more than my e46. I'll have to get back to you on that.

I love the way they both look, however now that the F30 is out I think it makes the E90 series look dated, the E92 still got it though...especially the LCI.

F30's nose/hood look terrible, I have a 328 off lease in 6 months, hope they fix it in the coupe.

I think that the difference is dramatic. I know that some of the reviews say it is very similar but I don't thing so. I had a previous generation 335i and I think the F30 is much better.

I largely agree with the OP. I never like the E90, in particular the rear-end, it looked way too lumpy. By contrast I thought the E92 was (and still is) a beautiful looking car.
I think the the F30 is in a different league to its predecessor, particularly the shape at the rear, and is much sleeker, sharper and more balanced. The hood line is a crime though. In summary: E92 > F30 > E90 |

The 2009 E90 LCI improvements made that series look more modern and aggressive but it now looks dated next to the F30 IMO. The E90 headlights in particular look old fashioned now.

I wonder if they are judging from pics or have they seen the car for real? I must say this car looks completely different face to face. I remember when i went to the dealership on Feb 10th and I was like WOW this looks nothing like in the pics.

But seeing an e46 recently, I though the same thing..they could bring the car out today with the newer tech additions and it would still be a great car to own, id certainly buy it!
