Subtle Goodies: BMS Gloss Black Tips & Custom-Painted iND Grills
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I did a couple of small upgrades today to the front & rear of my '13 335i. I'll start off with the Burger Motorsports (BMS) tips. These were sort of an impulse buy as they were not too pricey ($79 shipped) and would achieve the slightly more filled/aggressive look that I was going for. Shipping was fast and quality seems as good or better than OEM. Recommended! Here are the photos: Stock: Tip removed: New (left), old (right): Old installed on the left, new BMW on the right: Done! Love it. Now for the new grills. For a long time I thought I wouldn't change out my grills as I liked the contrast of the chrome on red and thought they tied in well with the headlight design of the F30. Then over the summer I added the M Performance side blades and front chin spoiler painted in gloss black and they started to look out of place. I wasn't in love with the all-black design but it would look better than the chrome. Then I contacted iND about painting and worked with one of their associates for a few days to land on a custom paint job that is the inverse of something I saw on here - gloss black surrounding Melbourne red inner rings. I also had them spray the slats full gloss black. They turned out beautifully and have sort of a DTM accent of the black ring without turning the grills into complete black holes. I highly recommend iND - they had great customer service and really helped me make my decision! On to the photos - installation process included. Peeling back the front bumper cover after removing the eight bolts & weather stripping: First few clips removed: Cleaned the holes before installation: I did my best to clear the radiator and black support bars. Re-attached the bumper and got it aligned before inserting the new grills. First one in! I then had some fun with low-lighting in my garage like a nerd. More daylight photos to come tomorrow now that I have it all washed and a date with Cars & Coffee Saint Louis. Cheers! |

I am really diggin on the how you painted your front spoiler. I intend to also paint the splitter part body color and the bottom part black like you.
