any way to do this...?
Is there anyway to code this on startup on an F30? as on the audi s5? on startup the rev / tachometer needles go all the way around and then back like a little test?

You can code it in most or all of the newer Audi/VWs (I don't know if it's a standard on the S5) via VCDS. Don't know about BMW though, unfortunately.
I did it on my GTI for awhile, but the novelty wore off pretty quickly and ultimately reminded me of an old Mitsubishi or Dodge (one or both of them did this back in the 80s/90s). I also wondered if it would induce any kind of early gauge wear or failure if it wasn't spec'ed with that "feature" in mind. A little OCD, I know, but that's me. BTW - an Automatic S5?!? Hopefully that's an S-Tronic (DSG) and not a Tiptronic... (don't know my S5s at all...) Last edited by jaskal; 04-23-2014 at 05:12 PM.. |

I've seen it on a BMW 335i.
I think it was a video on Youtube for the BMS JB4. Yes, just found the video:

I think JB4 needle sweep only works with Exx Kombi though.
