Does someone know some chip manufacturer who supports the new B48 engine in the F30 Sedan (facelift) ?

All companies i have mailed says that there only support the old engine.

I am confused that pro tuner companies make ugly faces when i say the new 320i have an new engine.

The 320i soldiers on with the N20 in the U.S., and in fact the F30 320i will probably never get the B48 (that'll be for the G20 generation). So don't expect any U.S.-based tuners to develop anything for the B48 320i.

I have ordered mine and get it in week 16 with B48 engine. But i am from Germany. Here is the problem all chip sellers have equip for the old N20 engine but not for the powerfull B48

But i see the 330i from BMWUSA have listed the 330i sedan with 4 cylinders and same B48 engine.

are you shure there deliver new cars with N20? i think not

but dont worry even pro tuners in Germany confound this

Also - just FYI, they're not "chips" anymore. It's all software, whether flash tuning or piggyback. There are, however, some good tuners in Germany, and you're likely to find what you're looking for from one of them.

I'm not sure how relevant this is. This sales guide is for MY2016, and the B48 isn't due to North America in any form until the MY2017's with the 330.

If I understand correct the box connects to 4 sensors.
I have never seen a boxtuning claim that high hp/nm increase.

It is compatible on the mini B48 engine ... Would be interesting to see if it works with the BWM B48

Hi Mike,

I have a UK version of 2016 (Mar built) 320i M Sport "Sports Auto" which has the B48 engine.

I have heard numerous people who have used JB and have overboost or turbo related errors stored on their ECU which has often invalidated their warranty and not just at that dealer but with all.

Please can you provide a link to the the most plug and play version of the JB tuning box that I can use on my car without risk of errors not due to installation but how the box operates and how much cleverer the ECU is at picking up rogue devices

I just installed new JB4 beta - which was ordered from Mike - on BMW F30 LCI 320i B48 engine, Euro version. It works perfectly, map changed by BC button without problem, not as N20 engine version I had to get bluetooth device.

JB4 beta for B58 engine written made me confused

How are you experiences with the JB4 for the 320i? Where are you getting the BMS intake? Didn't see any intakes for the b48 engine?

As I said, map 2 running impressive, you can notice totally different, like you drive other car. I also try map 1, not bad, just a bit less than map 2. The most important t me is JB4 allow you to choose map by simple button, most of time you don't need that power you can switch to map 0, the car running as normal.
I also wait for long time but no brand made air intake or even performance filter element for BMW F30 LCI B48 engine.
At the moment, only BMS has made air intake for B58 engine, as I see on the photos I strongly believe it can fit on B48 engine, especially they use the same part number of MAF sensor. I'm ordering it from N54 and wait for delivery, will let you know result.

Nice! I am still in doubt, JB4 or ECU tuning? BR Performance in Belgium promises around 270hp en 420nm for the 320i with stage1. They can program the power behind the buttons, so only with sport you have 270hp and comfort like 220hp.

Hello OP I am also an owner of the new B48 engine and looking for some performance upgrade (330i) .

May I ask so far what extra you had put into the car?

For air intake I knew GruppeM had a carbon air intake system for BMW B48 engine.

I am aware that Sgear in Taiwan will have the metal charge pipe coming soon.

Do you know any source for full exhaust upgrade? I will love to have something outside the official M performance

I see B48 engine exhaust muffler is the same with pre LCI N20 engine, we installed both Eisenmann and Remus without problem of fitment. But downpipe I can't find for B48 engine, there is only for B58 engine and not sure fitment.
