2013 f30 335i, bought at 24k miles a year and a half ago now im at 40k ive had the valve cover gasket replaced, the oil level sensor replaced, the pulley? replaced(something within that area was rattling bad) and the alternator went out aboit 2 months ago. chargepipe also but i got the vrsf chargepipe now. my car seems to be doing well, just some weird jolts/bogging/ hard shifts ive been feeling lately, but i think its due to my jb4 and injen intake? idk tho, just drivin till something happens lol

About to hit 48,000km, been less than two years since I took delivery of my 340i. High mileage for the age of the car I'd say...

I had an anomaly while accelerating hard onto the highway from the on-ramp at around 15,000km, engine cut off and literally ALL the warning systems triggered at once - I rolled to the side of the road while slowing down. Tire pressure, forward collision, check engine light, drivetrain malfunction, and more warnings that I can't remember. I gave it a minute because I was trying to figure out what was going on then restarted the car and all the warnings went away. Then I drove another 25km right after without problems. I've never experienced that issue since... wonder if it was some sort of surge in the electrical system.

I've had a low coolant warning at around 42,000km which the dealer topped up. No leaks that I can see, probably evaporation in the system because the fill cap was really crusty. The SA had a really tough time opening the cap.

Other "problem", if you want to call it, is with getting battery discharge warnings last month when it was super cold but I haven't been driving it as much lately so that's probably why, car always started though. I've learned a battery tender is a must for any BMW to keep the battery in good shape.

It's my first brand new car and reliability is pretty exceptional so far given how much I've driven it... it was our only car until I got the second car for the wife in Oct. I'm weary about the coolant loss in the long term though. Why is losing coolant in a closed system?

37000km on my 2016 340ix. Also had low battery warning on a -30C day, otherwise car has been near flawless. Creaking of shadowline trim which didn’t go away with the dealer’s fix, resolved after applying gummifledge.

I broke the 12v socket when trying to use a 3rd party USB charger - will have this replaced under warranty at next oil service.

Issue: Passenger Air Bag Light On
Resolution: Defective Seat Mat (Replaced under warranty)
My car

Oh yes, the infamous weatherstrip creak lol... I have that as well but it doesn't bother me given I'm either listening to music or I'm in Sport+ having fun with the windows down

If it does end up bothering me, I'll definitely keep this gummifledge product in mind... although it seems like it's a good rubber protector so I may get it in spring when I detail the car.

I really don't wanna jinx it but here goes..

2013 328i w/ mods and 85k miles on the clock.

No real issues, oil change intervals at 5k with Castrol European formula and recently with Rotella T6 (diesel oil), always use BMW/MANN filter. Only warning i'm getting is a low coolant warning because the sensor in the reservoir has gone out.

2014 335i xdrive sportsline - South Africa 50k miles.

Only problem has been a rear windshield that was replaced at 45k because rear defroster stopped working.

13K miles (Not exactly high mileage I know...)

Replaced SOS Emergency module under warranty. Had a "SOS System Malfunction" warning light every time I started the car. No driveability issues.

Fuel Tank Leak Detection pump

Just bought 2014 328I w/ 60k on it; my 4th BMW (Began w/ a 1970 4-dr 2000 in 1978). Two weeks in, I ran low on fuel and engine light came on--Tank Leak Module. Gas treatment ineffective. No diagrams anywhere online or in N20 Engine Service Guide or in Bentley's. Would like a diagram prior to visual inspection of entire car in order to locate (and then replace) Fuel Tank Leak Detection Pump and also Vent Pipe w/ Dust Filter.

Found a pic of the Fuel Tank Leak Detection Pump -- found on page 160-34 of Bentley's--it connects to the charcoal filter and is next to the NVLD pressure switch in the pic.

I'm getting old--my first BMW was the easiest to work on and, in my deluded memory, the most fun to drive.

LOL. Low on gas at 240? Leadfoot!

My car: 2015 428 GC. 6200 miles in 11months. Time for it's first oil change. NO issues whatsover (no errant rattles, etc.) Knock on wood.
Rattled tend to appear later, at around 10K miles (an entirely unscientific observation).

My previous 2013 F30 335i developed rattles around driver side AC vent. My current 2017 F36 440i GC began to exhibit rattles - although not as invasive- in the same general area.

Haha your memory is likely not as deluded as you think. I also have an e36 M3 and an e46 330i ZHP in addition to my f30 335i. The f30 is my least favorite, the least reliable, and it is the least fun to drive despite being the fastest. The e36 is the best driver, and the e46 is my favorite and the most well-rounded.

My F30 is a 13' 335i with the MPPK, MPE, VSS, and M adaptive suspension. 65k. This is my daily driver for work, and I have had the following issues in no particular order:
Knocking From Steering/Suspension
Steering Rack (didn't fix)
Steering U-Joint (didn't fix)
Control Arms (didn't fix)
Springs (didn't fix)
Shocks & Endlinks (fixed it)

Engine Malfunction
Charge Pipe (didn't fix it)
Ignition Coils (fixed it)

Exhaust Rattle
MPE replaced

Also have needed a battery, a rear window motor due to the motor failing, as well as 2 door lock actuators to replace failed units, and the windshield reservior had to have insulation added around it due to a known rattling issue.

The current issue is that the steering rack has been losing its initialization settings and throwing chassis stabilization errors.

This leak detection module is under extednded warranty. Why do it yourself? Mine was taken care off by the dealer in november.

The N55 has issues with charge pipe cracking other than that the F30 is pretty solid. Had my B58 since New now at 30k no real issues. Did have the low coolant at 8k was topped up and pressure tested no leaks found. No low coolant issues since so not sure if it was under filled at the factory. Also had low oil just after an oil change probably because they put only enough oil for an N20 rather than a B58 since most of the cars they service are N20 and B48.

2016 340i ~18k miles...no real issues. Had quite a bit of trouble getting the dealer to understand that I dont get real time traffic (ARTT) and also getting Connected drive to work...

After trying two different dealers, they figured out the telematics ECU was gone and had to replace and recode the car...I wouldnt call it a real issue, but damn feels good to have traffic alerts and detours now!

Yeah, don't know why it would only happen once. Was it the turbo coolant that was low or the engine coolant?
