I've done less than 200miles in the car so I can't really complain about the horrific fuel economy because I've been "giving it some" at every opportunity.

Tonight I went the long way to Asda and found myself laughing, gasping and generally tutting at myself for the way I drove. The car is Jekyl and Hyde. I heard many people make this comment before, also about the 335D but after a few days of ownership this car is the real beast compared to the 335D. Sure, the 335D is a massively capable car but I'm really really glad I bought the 340i. It handles so well, the power delivery is excellent and it lets you play with it a bit.

A local bit of road I wondered what a BLEEP noise was then I looked down at the Speedo and realised it was my speed warning I'd set.

I want to just go out for another drive in it again!

Perfect choice of body shape, engine and colour!

Not just get the mppk or a tuning box for even more smiles!

One night I added the 340's to the list and suddenly there was one local that happened to on the list. They'd only just added pictures that evening and I was the first person to call up about it.

For the price I couldn't say no.

electric seats, folding mirrors, H+K speakers, big boy brakes.... lots of stuff
Great choice!

The car was already well outside of my original budget so an extra £2k on a noisy exhaust doesn't seem likely just yet. Maybe in a years time.

I already went over budget by 4k and they gave me 1k less for a px than I hoped. My man maths is good but I won't be changing anything for at least a few months

Trying to find more information regarding the MPerformance Power and Sound Kit from BMW's websites, but either my google-fu is weak or there is no info there. Can this be retrofitted to a bog-standard 340i (16-plate) and no impact on the original warranty? And where would I find a sub-£2k deal?

Jens

OP: My choice of colour too - I like the understated, discreet look too.

Give Rybrook Warwick a shout ask for Tom Leach in parts department. I got mine for under £2k fitted with carbon tips.

Thanks Mike and RustyBitz. It is very tempting...did you buy your 340i from Rybrook too?

Car was purchased from Oxford but Warwick BMW have done so many MPPSK installs, can't fault them at all. I'd happily use them again even if it's a 200mile round trip.

That is good to know - they can probably do it blindfolded then

It also seems that Sycamore Peterborough have an offer of £2200 fitted...don't know if it is still valid though.

I've heard that the Reading Coopers BMW are rather good on price too and they are about 2miles from my house. I'll try and hear daftasabrush's car at some point which may sway me but at the moment that £2k could go on sorting out the missus's car.

I'll let the new car "wow" die off slowly if I can first. I think I'll set aside some money for the 2nd car's MOT and if it passes without problems I'll look at dipping into that for some noise. At least that way I'll have lived with the car for a while and I'll appreciate the change rather than having it from the start.

I had my volvo maybe 2 years before remapping it. I loved it for a year, got bored then remapped it and loved it again for a short while until the clutch decided it didn't like the remap as much as I did then wanted £1k spent on making it happy again.

Who knows what will happen money wise. Maybe the kids will demand an expensive holiday? Maybe the car will shock me with its lack of economy. I was expecting high 20's from it but I'm now realising that 25 might be just about do-able.

I'm sure I'll catch up with someone who has one soon enoug hand that will make me want one for sure.

They are good on price and the customer service was good too. They've just delivered my old exhaust back to me.
Aran, the parts manager sorted it all out for me. I paid £1750 with carbon tips.
