Yes totally agree. I saw a san merino blue 4GC at a local dealer. It's a really vibrant colour without being too in your face. I would have got that or Grigio medio but I think it was way more than double the cost of the TB. Bespoke colour options are ££££. I thought Tanzanite was a happy medium. Have not regretted it at all.

I have a Carbon Black 4GC. I would not have it again. Living in the UK with the sun rarely out, you don't see the colour in it's glory. With the filthy roads where I live the car is permanently caked.

Next time its either silver or white with the the carbon M perf kit.

Yeah ive gone sunset, looks awesome with the shadow and its a bit different from the norm, which appears to be blue...

I would imagine upkeep wise it will be reasonable, far better than black but no silver or white.

Garage List
I’ve had Black Sapphire, Melbourne Red and now Mineral Grey. I think the Grey is the easiest and most classy out of the three so far with a good depth to it.

This is turning out to be a great and interesting post.
Colours are so individual and that's why it's a shame the std BMW palette is so limited. I totally get your point about the MG looking classy, however I want to look at my car and get an emotional response somehow... For that reason, Grey is just a bit meh...
I would like the colour to catch the eye a little, so I think the current running order is TB followed by the marmite SRB.

About 7 years ago I owned a Fiat bravo sport in a sort of deep cheery red with lenticular paint. In the sun it looked amazing. Similar I suppose to Ribery's Ruby red F31.
So given a free choice for your next BMW (at no extra cost), what colour would you choose?

I'd have loved my GC in a frozen silver.

Also love that red in the press pictures of the new X4.

Definitely agree the standard choice is so dull and limiting. Very frustrating. Don't know whether that's BMW AG fault or BMW GB only deciding to take a few colours.

Id get something frozen, i think the frozen grey merc colour looks really good. Also like audis nardo or the grigii telesto from earlier. SMB is also stunning.

M3 indeed!! Yes, is covered in condensation (it's cold here this morning) I'll have another look at lunchtime. Gorgeous colour and a bit different from Silver.

If I could, I’d have Mineral White but for some reason they won’t allow it on the 3 series M Sport models!
