Released to Carrier, awaiting transportation... for 7 days...

I've been patiently waiting on my car to start making its way towards me. However... Its been at "Vehicle was released to carrier, awaiting transportation to port of exit" for a week now.

Anyone else in the same situation?

Mine was 11 days in the previous stage (155 - "waiting for release to carrier"). Just changed to "released to carrier, waiting for transport..."

It seems strange to me that cars that get finished at roughly, if not exactly, the same time then go into different categories of waiting or moving through the system. I'm sure there's a bunch of stuff that we just don't/can't know about how all this works.

Having the bits of info we get from these forums/our CAs is sort of cool, but also can be more frustrating. Perhaps ignorance would be bliss....

I'm getting a performance center delivery. So, I assume mine is sitting at the port while others built at the same time are already on a ship because they are waiting on a ship that goes to Charleston, SC. So far, there are only two this month. At least for the W&W shipping company. So, that could be it. Some ports may not have a lot of ships come in on a weekly basis.

I just got the news today that mine is finally on the move. So right now it's somewhere between Munich and Bremerhaven.

Good for you. Unfortunately, once my carrier gets to Durban the car will go to Belgium and be off-loaded to another vessel for transatlantic shipment to NYC.

Can't believe you'd take that sitting down. Something is obviously wrong if it's been "Awaiting transport" for over a month. Better have BMW track it. Your car might have gotten lost. lol

The IVR kept saying that there is no shipping info available for my car for the past week, but my CA pulled a report that it's already left Bremerhaven on the "Dover Highway". En-route to Charleston now :-)
