I am not sure I understand. You want your CID screen to be off by default?

What do you mean by enabling GPS? You mean Navigation?

Will this work on the F31?

But now I am also in the middle of a 4U1 Ceramic Controls retrofit, and I already have the Ceramic Radio and AC Knobs, and the iDrive Controller, but now I will need to buy and replace my gear shift a second time with one that is both 2TB and 4U1, or just buy the ceramic face plate for the one I have.

But, I think the cermaic is worth it, and it will look damn good with my new European 6WB Instrument Cluster that just showed up...

What lifespan? your screen is running 24x7 a days? I thought most of us only have it running a few hour a day max...

Prof Navigation? If OEM doesn't have it, you're probably looking at retrofitting the entire HU_CIC, i-drive controller (lack the additional buttons for Nav), and screen (if it doesn't already come with the 8.8" screen)... good idea to go straight to NBT!

Plus adding all the FSC Codes and Maps.

I assume that in 10 years from now, you're going to be driving the remainder of the 30 years in Malaysia or Africa or wherever the car gets exported to

Hi Guys ... have been out of the loop on the coding for a while. Quick question... I programmed the "M Performance" logo on the cluster and HUD display a few months ago, but recently read (in anotehr thread) that someone had also programmed his Nav to display the "M Performance" logo.

Based on everything I had read a few months back, this wasn't possible. Has this since changed? Would appreciate any insight anyone could share. Thanks.

Hey Shawn, what's the difference between 49.1 lite and 49.1? Will I still be able to code all the ECU's with 49.1 coming from 48.1? I already requested for my token and patch and I'm upgrading to 3.22.

The "lite" version has the ECU flash files removed as they account for the majority of the size of the dataset

You can code do everything with the "lite" version except flash (reprogram) the ECU software.

Thanks Frogman.
Can I still VO code an ECU with the lite version? By reprogramming the ECU software, does that mean updating it to the latest version?

cheats for F20

Hi!
I am new to all that coding stuff...read a lot in this thread and I am impressed by all the knowledge of you guys!
Is it possible to have a complete list of all modifications that are proved as working for a completely new F20 model?
Thanks!

Yes, you can still VO code with the lite version.

ECU programming/flashing is what the dealer does when they update the software. I have not seen any procedures for doing that here, but I've seen Shawn mention it a few times, so I think some people are doing it. It's not something I would want to play with, especially with a car that's still under warranty. I think the .swfl files are being used by people doing retrofits.

I would think that flashing an ECU would be a much more risky operation than normal coding and I don't know what BMW service would do if the car software level didn't match their records.

BTW: The full 49.1 dataset is 17.6GB, 13.6GB of which are the .swfl files.

Thanks Frogman! I'll just get the lite version then. It sure beats downloading 17GB since we have limited bandwidth here in Canada.
