That beast looks amazing! Bikes are just getting so high tech now. Road bikes in particular are going nuts though. My bike at c£5k is nothing compared to some of the top end road kit. Mate of mine just spent £2k on carbon wheels FFS!!!

Madness to think that nowadays £5k buys you a middle of the range mountain bike.
I'm not sure I understand the price difference in road bikes though. It seems to me that £4K will buy you a top end road bike with everything on it. So how are bikes reaching upwards of £10k? Yes stick a set of zipps on, but where's the other £4K going? At least with mountain bikes There's a definite increase in spec albeit for crazy prices.

On a slightly related note - I'm definetly going to treat myself to a Di2 groupset. The tech geek in me just can't ignore electronic shifting.

Crazy costs.
I rode sponsored back in 90's, and my cross country bike was worth about £900-1000 at max. And that was trick and as lightweight as you could get away with.
Good knows what the equivalent is in todays market.

Yeah, it's an Izoard. Had it for around 7 years but look after my bikes as well as my cars. Trek make nice bikes but have you looked at Canyon? They have some great deals on at the moment.

Thanks for the compliment, looks better than it is as it's around 7 years old now. Still in pristine nick though. £2k on carbon wheels must be nice if you can justify it. Mine look great, ride great but we're procured on Ali Express, say no more! 😀
