Testing out my car for difference between Comfort and Sport.
Drove 100% Comfort Mode last week.
Pulled 27.5mpg.
That's 70% highway, 30% city.
8AT, shifting manually as I always drive. Kept the revs under 2500rpm for shifts but did not baby it at all. Pulled hard an opened her up quite a few times like I normally would. I wasn't driving for fuel efficiency, just how I normally would for everyday use.

At the beginning of next week I'll update with my 100% Sport week driving the same way.

have a quick question

in comparing the 6mt and 8at 335i. What rpms would each car be at when they are doing say 80mph in top gear. And is there an audible difference in noise within the cabin?

2016 330e -- last two trips

(1) long distance trip. mostly highway driving at close to 84, 36 mpg but about 34 adjusting for the initial shot of plug in juice.

(2) recent driving mostly local where i can use all electric power, auto mode the rest of the time in sport mode. 50.7 but I haven't figured out how to account for plugging in at night.

Alrighty, so after my week of driving 100% in Sport mode I ended up at 26.8mpg. This is astounding to me as I drove pretty much identical to the prior week in Comfort mode. In fact I may have driven a bit worse, ripping off the line a few times and driving with my windows open the entire week. Having only lost .7mpg by switching to Sport... I will be sticking to Sport all the time now.

Decided to live on the edge today. Took my car into the --- range to see how much I could get out of her for real. Drove like this for 11 miles before reaching my gas station of choice. Still had 1/3 of a gallon left, proving my original theory of about a 20 mile range once car flashes this symbol.

Drove my usual mix of Comfort and Sport this week, averaged 27.8MPG over my usual 430ish week range. I'm happy with this outcome. I'd hoped to break 30mpg but it is what it is. I'd assume using ECO MIGHT get me there, but the boring ass drive isn't worth the extra 2MPG for me. I'm done with this testing period. Awesome thread.

So jelly looking at these numbers..

428i Coupe and averaging 15 mpg. City only and usually in sport mode w/ decent heavy foot.

Is this expected or should I be worried? Filling up the tank I can only get about 250km before the fuel light comes on!

Car's got only 3000km on it.

No stop/start? Or are you in sport mode the whole time? Idling that long every day is no good for your engine and is wasting you huge amounts of fuel.... use the stop/start!

(unless of course you're using the AC most of the time, in which case please disregard my comments... I'm sure I didn't need to say it anyway!)

Don't do this too often, apparently it's no good for the cat. I used to run it to empty all the time in my e92 petrol and ended up having a new cat fitted at around 20k miles (under warranty thankfully) needless to say I never do it now!!
