What class when youre running with who? Bmw cca you dont get bumped up with just springs. That really isnt an upgrade. Once you go changing the shocks you are in a different class. On a side note the n20 is in the same class as the n54/5. Better driver equals better times!!

Depends on the group/region. SCCA should be consistent across regions but BMWCCA will not.

Who cares what class you're in, if you're just going to have fun? Go do it!

How does the Sport Springs effect your handling? Did they mess with your ride comfort at all?

I have Adaptive M so in comfort mode its soft but I only drive in Sport and Sport+. I use comfort for very rough roads and speed bumps. Sport springs gives your more driving confidence and I changed them 4 days after delivery.

You have me wanting to do this. I keep hearing that it is still soft comfort mode from some and some say its hard and bouncy. I appreciate you sharing your experiences. I am getting ready to take mine autocrossing before I put the downpipe and JB on it.

If anyone thinks this car with H&R Sport is hard and bouncy in comfy mode clearly bought the wrong car and may want to contact their local Lexus dealership as soon as possible.

Technically, you should be in STU due to the lowering springs. However if your competitors don't complain, then I guess you're ok. At a National level event (if you ever decide to attend one), you'll probably get protested unless you finish at the bottom of the class.

They know that I have the springs but they still put me in D-Stock. Look like the allow a certain amount of modifications in the class because most of the other BMW's had work done too like suspension and exhaust.

I search through the list and all BMW's was in D-Stock except two which where in RTR - Road tire RWD - which basically mean bone stock from factory

The basic rules for all Stock classes are like this:

Engine:
- air filter (only) can be replaced, but not the whole intake system
- cat-back exhaust is allowed
- header, or downpipes are to be untouched

Suspension:
- stock springs only
- aftermarket shocks are allowed
- one sway bar only (either front or rear, but not both)
- camber kits are not allowed

Brake:
- OEM calipers only
- no BBKs
- any brake pads can be used
- SS brake lines are allowed ONLY for cars manufactured before 1992

Wheels & Tires:
- OEM size wheels only, but offset can be +/- 1/4" from the factory
- any size tires you can squeeze into the OEM width
- for Stock classes, r-compound tires are allowed; for the new RT classes, only street tires with min. 140 treadwear are allowed

Everything else should remain stock.

So the people in your region are not following the SCCA rules, or they have some sort of regional sup reg.

If you want to read up on the Stock rules, here's the link to SCCA's 2013 rule book (Stock class is section 13), http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/...lo%20Rules.pdf.

Honestly I don't really care what class they want to put me in. I'm just there to have fun, its a hobby not a profession
