Not true. There's obviously family styling cues like the grill, headlights and taillights but BMW does exactly the same thing. From the side and behind, a 3 and 5 series are very hard to distinguish. The point is, Audi is not the only one. Chevy, Buick, Cadillac, Mercedes and others establish brand identity through styling cues. Regarding the 2 series prototype, to me in these pictures it's a cross between a Jetta and an A4. Then again the pictures don't show any detail, it's black and it's still disguised. |

I agree, looking at a F10 and a F30 from a distance, its hard to tell them apart. If you dont know your BMW, its hard to tell them apart even close up. Its such a successful formula that Lexus is starting it use it and I am sure others will soon follow.
