NBT Touch control fitting

Hi
Apologies if already asked,I have spent a good while searching threads without success.
I'm just about to retro fit a NBT Nav with a touch I drive. I've ordered all below items, however does anyone know where the 'y' cables go? I believe I need to solder these to the main NBT emulator cable? If someone knows of a link to wiring diagram I would be most grateful,Many thanks.

Ik6speed

Thanks for the update, however the Y cable has now arrived & it only looks as though there is two connections that fit ( controller & Touch module) where does the other block fit?
Original BMW cable seem to have the Y cables already attached to the multi block. (As pictured)

Cheers

It plugs into the current icontrol cable, not the harness.

Is that currently separate cable? I'm changing from the old basic professional radio (no Nav) to NBT, I thought it all came out of the main block cable on original cars? Which I haven't got. I have this (pictured below)
Sorry ! I'm new to this as you've probably guessed!

Hi IK6SPEED,

I've fitted NBT & Touch controller as described above, however the new touch controller is not letting me access any info whatsoever, does this sound familiar- is it a matter of coding the new controller? I've plugged the phone old basic controller in to test & it accesses most if not all of the menu- ie Nav, DAB telephoned & radio ? The screen displays this:

Thanks again.

Obviously you do not have something wired correctly.

Wire without the Y adapter, get it to work, then add Y adapter and code to make itouch module work.

The touch controller run of the can 2 bus while the older cic/non-touch controller runs of can 1. So that could be the reason why it wouldn't work without switching the can cables

Thanks Dfhamy,
I think your right as old icontrol is operating all options.
I've got to honest, I'm also struggling with the e-sys download, it seems to have trouble with token generator? So currently stuck with no sound (radio), no touch controller but Nav is working albeit without sound. ...Deep breath!
BMW specialists telephone number on standby.

For the controller you would need to run 2 new kcan 2 cables from your car to the controller plugs, and depending on your old speaker system you might have to change the pin-out of the quadlock harness

Thanks for the info, this is something I could do, do you have a link for wiring diagram for this, I'm not sure which pins would need to come out of block or where two new control wires should go? Could I not just solder new 'y' cable (two wires) to new loom as file picture (4th picture in post)? ...however not sure where?

Thanks again.

You would splice two wires from the quadlock and connect them to the controller wires, send me a pm with your email and I'll forward to you a wire diagram and explain it to you more

Hey folks, I bought a Touch ECU, Touch Controller, and Y Cable Splitter

Touch ECU Part # 9347470-01

I plugged it to existing iDrive controller cable and nothing, no lights, no control. I have a 2013 63 Plate 325D and it has NBT Professional fitted, not retrofitted, this was factory NBT fit.

I tried using the Y-Splitter cable, same problem, tried with ECU etc, nothing.
I coded in eSys the functions for touch to be activ, but again, nothing on the controller.

I thought I had Can2 wires? Here is pic of my original cable;

https://photos.app.goo.gl/jJfPRLqus4hbuBFS9

Would appreciate any help in advance

UK cars are different designation than NA with the plate system but the NA MY 2013 F30 that came with a NBT (AH3) works on the older KCAN Bus, not the newer high speed KCAN2 Bus that MY 2014 (7/2013+) were on.

As you have a solid green wire into #4 and orange/green into #3, looks like you are wired for KCAN, not KCAN2.

I suspect your build date was in the first 6 months of 2013.

Ahhh I see, yeah it was registered July 2013 but I guess it was built earlier so tallies up with your diagram above, hmm, what would be the easiest way to go about making it work ?
