Solar Tint across from Sunset Place. They have a really good reputation and very reasonable prices. They also use a machine to automatically laser cut for the F30, so the tint is a perfect fit and, even better, no razors.

Continentals. They're not bad but would have preferred Bridgestone Potenzas.

I wonder about the accuracy of this story given to you by your dealer. For him to suggest that the plant would be shut down in October for two weeks for further re-construction seems unlikely to me.

Firstly, this stoppage in production would be incredibly costly for BMW. Furthermore, before the F30 went into production in October 2011, there was substantial re-construction in the Munich plant, including the upgrading of the stamp press, new robots both for the body shop and for the paint shop.

There was also a 2 week plant shutdown in August 2012, during which further technical adjustments for the plant would likely have been made, if required.

So I wonder if this story is simply inaccurate information or was it useful for the dealer's purposes to speed up delivery of a car already in transit ?

Consider yourself lucky that you didn't get the dreaded Goodyear Efficient Grip tires !!!

The Goodyear Efficient Grip is a Grand Touring tire, not a Performance Summer tire. Has BMW actually been installing these on Sport/MSport cars?

Which model Continentals? I did not know Continental made a performance summer runflat in 225/45/18 and 255/40/18.

Yes, unfortunately, these tires have been installed on a few M Sports. If my car arrives with these dreadful tires, my dealer has agreed to swap them for Bridgestone or Pirelli.

They actually look OK as a step down tire, however they are NOT a Performance Summer Tire. Even Goodyear markets them as a more all around tire. Surprised BMW used them on MSport cars. Hopefully that misuse has been stopped!

Is your car coming from DE or SA?

My car will be built next week in Munich. No F30s are coming to Canada from SA.

HZNbrg,

I had the chance to do the same thing. I was offered a car similar to what I wanted to order that would have arrived in 3-4 weeks. The car has $2,000 worth of options that I just didn't want, heated seats (I live in San Diego), Parking assistant (haven't needed this so far in my life) and Premium Package.

The other thing is that the car was in LA which is 2 hours each way fro me. In the end, I decided I would rather wait and get exactly what I want, save a couple of thousand and not have to drive to LA in their insane traffic.

My car is almost the same as yours except for the Premium Package (I did get Black Dakota Leather) and I did get Harman Kardon. Great choice.

If I did build the car, however, I would have given up the heated seats for 19" wheels or HK sound. I don't have much need for heated seats in Miami.

Hey, how is the stock sound system in the car? Base? Treble? I ordered my M Sport 6 days ago....and opted not to include the HK Sound System either. I have the Bose System in my Infiniti now and i never felt that it was worth paying extra for it. The Bose system just didn't have enought base. Not sure about the BMW's though. Hopefully i made the right decision.

Whew, glad to hear. I just ordered the exact same color matched reflectors about 20 minutes ago. I then saw your pictures, and it looked as if your car didn't even have the reflectors at all, causing me to think that perhaps I ordered the color matched ones for no reason. That also goes to show just how well the matching is and how easy it is to miss that there is even anything there.
