So, I asked Avin if they are planning on releasing a newer version with more RAM and Android 7.1 and their answer was:

Can't speak for them. And, all I can report is what info I get. I was just told the DAP+ is $35.00 for those who need it. I am attempting to set something up where each member can order direct for shipment directly to them.

This is the company I have been speaking with. Contact them and message with either Louie or Alice. Let them know you are with the BMW group that has been asking about the 10.25 unit. I am providing this info without any guarantees as I have yet to order. When I do, I will use PayPal to cover myself. I hope this turns out to be another option for us.

Of course 2 months after I spend $600 on a crappy 1GB android 4.4 unit, a 2GB unit comes out for $200 less. Searched everywhere for a better one before ordering.

I have my doubts about it actually being android 7, these suppliers have a history of fudging build numbers, but if it does have the PX5 processor and 2GB ram, it'll be a big upgrade regardless of OS version.

I am in chat now with Louie who said price has gone up. He told me he sent you guys quotes at retail price of $460.00.

It is up to you how you handle this, but I'm not happy he played this game. I am not fond of dealing with these people right now... I am going to continue looking in hopes I can find someone to stand behind their word.

Not knocking the unit, but I feel slighted. I hope some of you guys can benefit from all of this.

I got a quote back saying $460, should have been higher as mine is a 2012, shipping to UK was $65 and DAB module $35, as you say price seems to have jumped up considerably. Somewhat disappointing, shipping seems v.expensive, think I'll hold off for now, shame as you'd done a fantastic job negotiating on our collective behalf.

I mailed them yesterday but received nothing so far... price is still cheaper than Avin for the whole package.

And if you pay with PayPal it’s an extra 5% so it’s now more expensive than the Avin unit with no guarantee it will be as described, again, not calling the unit or the supplier but it’s quickly gone from very interesting to an expensive solution. Will need to weigh things up some more before deciding.

Personally, I have a policy of not dealing with people like this. If they gave you(us) a price and are now saying something totally different, it does not inspire me with confidence that they will support the units after sale.

I will hold off also.

I woke up to a message from Alice saying the price was $460 as well. I am wondering if there is a miscommunication error on ours/their part about a potential group buy instead of a each single unit... maybe? lol but I sent a reply for clarification anyways.

I was very clear from the beginning. I further questioned his logic...

Unfortunate for you now... many are not happy. So what you are saying is we can not get a better price because we would not sell for a profit? You should go back to the forum and see how many are unhappy now.
