How to get the loudest 28i?
Hey guys I live in Cali so I have the n26. Had the mpe but was very disappointed in it so I got rid of it. Now I have a muff delete, 3" piping to tips. However I want to get it to be a lot louder, I know the catless downpipe will make a big difference, other than that what else can make the exhaust louder? Thanks for the info in advance. Going to get the dp once I do the m sport conversion

BTW, just because you live in Cali doesn't mean you have a N26... |

Catless downpipe makes all the difference. Pair that with a nice exhaust to manipulate the sound. You would be surprised how different the MPE sounds with the catless DP installed. A muffler delete on the n20 does sound a bit ricey IMO. This is because you can tell its a straining 4 cylinder screaming at the top of its lungs and not a v10 super car burbling with power. It's the "try too hard", poser factor that you have to consider. Better to go for an exhaust with a loud but sophisticated exhaust note. I have a Catless DP and Remus exhaust and it's loud. I've set off car alarms, but it's not too obnoxious under normal driving conditions.
Another tactic is to up the boost. When I'm pushing around 20psi, shifts have a totally different sound than when I'm pushing 17 psi (map 5). If your running without a tune that's only 8psi! Don't expect much sound at all in that case. As said before the sound should be a reflection of the actual power being output. Put enough power through it, and get rid of the restriction in the DP and the exhaust/muffler will manipulate that sound in beautiful ways. Last edited by BMWtight2me; 09-06-2016 at 01:38 PM.. |

You have to remember a Lambo is a V10, with the 328i [ 4 cylinder ] ( I drive one too ) your going to sound no diff than a civic coming down the block.. Now this is not a knock to a civic their K20/24 motors are some of the best built but this is a BMW you probably dont want to be that guy with a ricey sounding BMW. If you had a 335i then it would sound completely different and like a monster ( inline 6's sound beautiful ).
